Simon Cowell is ready to rumble. On Tuesday night, the 'American Idol' judge had some fighting words for competitor 'Dancing With the Stars.'During his critique of contestant Didi Benami, the saucy Brit judge threw in a sly jab at the sequined reality competitor on another channel.
"You have no longer made yourself contemporary, everything is too old-fashioned. If you listen to one of those dancing shows, they always have a singer murdering a song on it," Simon said as fellow judge Randy Jackson laughed in the background.
He didn't stop there.

idol will never be the same without simon!! they need him to say things like that to keep it interesting. Kara cries too much

I won't miss Simon at all. there is a huge difference between constructive criticism and just being as mean as possible. to hear those things he lashes out with is hard enough, but in front of America and there families it is not necessary to totally demoralize someone like that. and what is with Kara this season? has she a problem sitting next to Ellen? why doesn't she just sit in Simon's lap?

He likes to show off his chest, but Simon Cowell wouldn't last a hot minute as a judge or dancing on DWTStars.

I like Simon because he is honest. Why should he have to lie about someones talent? His harsh words help more than they hurt. I will take an honest man over a liar any day. Usually with too many sweet words is a cover for something you won't like.
If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
I thought Simon's reference was clear. He was mocking ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew), the Randy Jackson-produced dance hit on MTV. Now you can understand Jackson's defensive laff! LOL

He was clearly talking about DTWS and he was telling the truth. Listening to those singers on there is like, killing my ears.

So Simon dissed DWTS? Sorry, I missed it. See, I was watching "Dancing With The Stars" instead of "American Idol."

cowell rotten attitude should not be glorified and tolerated nor should he be enriched by it. why are we giving him the venue to show his despicable and egotistical character for all to see and hear including the impressionable young people. It's not a purist and upright, just being civil and fun at the same time.

Sad that Cowell has to give his life meaning by demeaning others.

I wish Simom Cowell was one of the judges on DWTS, maybe then
that snob of a person will be eliminated(kate Gosslin). She is one rude person, and thinks she is a star.
I would rather have Simon on there to tell the truth, then
have someone sugar-coat it.
I'm thinking of a getting a petition to get her off the show.

DWTS will be jumping the shark soon.

I am so sick of Simon and his lousy attitude. No help , just rude and arrogant. Same for that Kara - ITs their fault that Idol is missing a few this year. All they do is insult these young people with their attitude. NO HELP at all.

Cowell usually knows his stuff, but not on this occasion. The DWTS singers are very good, and I dare say much better than 3 or 4 in the Top 10 of Idol this season. Alot of hardcore Idol fans are actually glad Cowell is leaving because he brings nothing to the judging table other than the same ole worn out predictable rhetoric. Next season Ringo Starr is going to be in Simon's chair.

I STOPPED WATCHING(HATE IT, NOT SAME) AI, TURNED TO DWTS OR SOMETIMES WATCH THE BIGGEST LOSER

SIMON I SO MUCH MEANER TO THE CONTESTANTS THIS SEASON. PERHAPS BECAUSE HE'S LEAVING IDOL? REGARDLESS, IT'S GETTING OLD FAST.

He is so full of himself. His EGO is huge!
GO DWTS!! I like DWTS better, I record and watch it over Idol.
So stick it in your pipe and smoke it Simon, you take second to DWTS, that is why the jab.

Who cares. Let Simon say what he wants. Both shows (Idol and Dancing) are the same. It's all about popularity and not about whose the best. Maybe it's time for both to retire.

The solution is simple.....Have Simon and others who judge beyond their area of expertise participate in DWTS. How can one judge something that they are not currently proficient at ? Could they absorb criticism that is sometimes not very respectful ? However, one must admit that Simon is very sensitive for talent that deserves it.
He will never forget "Twinkle , twinkle little star and the loving child " Hopefully, no one can forget it .
