The show must go on -- at least, it must for Erin Andrews. Despite an ongoing FBI investigation into a string of threatening e-mails sent to the ESPN correspondent, Andrews insists she'll continue participation in the current season of 'Dancing With the Stars' as planned.
"I have a dance on Monday and I don't want to let [partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy] down, I don't want to let my family down, and I don't want to let myself down," she tells PEOPLE. "I'm not going to stop living my life."
Threatening e-mails to the star were sent as early as September and as recently as last week to 'The Dan Patrick Show.' One even read, "Somebody should shoot her in the face."
Andrews' lawyer, Marshall Grossman, said that Andrews will continue to appear on 'Dancing With the Stars' even if security must be beefed up. "Erin and her family are protected," Grossman said in a statement obtained by TMZ. "It is unfortunate that there are sick people who prey on the fears and threaten the well-being of others."
Andrews is dedicated to the competition, she says. "I don't quit on things. It's not an option for me."
Andrews has been the target of unwanted attention before -- last year, secretly videotaped nude footage of her was distributed on the Internet. At the time, Andrews called the incident a "nightmare," telling Oprah Winfrey she'd never forget when she "opened up the computer [and] could feel my heart pounding."
Last month, Illinois resident Michael David Barrett was sentenced to 30 months in jail for filming Andrews through the peephole of her hotel room door and publishing the footage online.
After watching a clip of her and her dance partner doing an interview, I came away thinking that she's childish and immature. For someone who's so over the edge with what happened to her, I can't help but think that she's trying to ride any "fame train" she can find. What a phony.
Really, Mike. Riding the fame train? Someone films you through a flipping hotel keyhole and broadcasts you on the internet and then later get threatening letters, including one where she should be shot in the face...this person is riding the fame train?? Should she just take it? Should she just hide? Sick basterd men like you make us look bad.
Mike and Willie might be living in the Stone Age, but please folks, depicting them as reflecting a "typical male attitude" is like reacting to a black drug dealer by saying he's a "typical black guy". Can anyone say 'gender profiling'?
I totally agree with Mike. Erin has always had this holier than thou attitude about her. She isnt even that great of a dancer and when you strip away the fake blonde hair and the makeup you have an average girl with a huge nose.
More drama from the "man-face". BTW, did anyone catch the clip of her in the car with her mother, (don't know why she was being filmed) but she thinks some "strange car" is following her and she calls 911. She identifies herself by name and then as the girl in the hotel-clip; she then remarks that she's starting to feel like Britney Spears. Sorry sweetie, but you're not that hott.
I'm starting to have my suspicions about this woman...The only reason she has the national fame she has now is because of these men that have filmed her or written her threatening e-mails. Only guys that watched college football games on ESPN previous to this would have known who she was. Pretty ironic.
So Jim, there is something wrong about a working woman in media? You probably have suspicions about Barbara Walters, too. but then you probably don't know who she is!
This young woman is a drama queen of the highest order who appears to be "cashing in" on her misfortunes. It was obscene that a pervert took pictures of her but it is a done deal, the cell door has shut so she should move on. Death threats are not funny for anyone but a person of dignity and maturity would carry on as normal and let the FBI do its job. It would be best all round if she left DWTS and got on with her other life as a reporter.
all jerks are jealous of people, and don't want them to be important or be sucessful in life, unlike them, looking for a handout or trying to find something to dig up and sue to get money,in most cases it shouldn't be allowed, but there are so many Crooked Judges around!!!!!!
THE GUY THAT FILMED HER SHOULD BE IN PRISON FOR 30 YEARS NOT 30 MONTHS. HIS SELFISH AND ILLIGAL ACT HAS BROUGHT LIFE CHANGING PAIN TO THIS YOUNG WOMAN. THINK AS A PARENT NOT AS A SPECTATOR.
OF COURSE SHE SHOULD GO ON DANCING. YOU CANT QUIT LIFE BECUASE SOME DEGENERATE MORON TAKES ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

Ditto to what Eb said. You are a sick bastard that needs some help. Period!
Mike and Joe = typical male attitude. "If she doesn't turn me on she is not fit to be a human being"
Let her dance - she doesn't exist to impress you guys!

Mike and Joe remind me of something my mom always said, "if you don't have anything nice to say about someone......SHUT UP YOU BUNCH OF HATERS!"
