The show must go on -- at least, it must for Erin Andrews. Despite an ongoing FBI investigation into a string of threatening e-mails sent to the ESPN correspondent, Andrews insists she'll continue participation in the current season of 'Dancing With the Stars' as planned.
"I have a dance on Monday and I don't want to let [partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy] down, I don't want to let my family down, and I don't want to let myself down," she tells PEOPLE. "I'm not going to stop living my life."
Threatening e-mails to the star were sent as early as September and as recently as last week to 'The Dan Patrick Show.' One even read, "Somebody should shoot her in the face."
Andrews' lawyer, Marshall Grossman, said that Andrews will continue to appear on 'Dancing With the Stars' even if security must be beefed up. "Erin and her family are protected," Grossman said in a statement obtained by TMZ. "It is unfortunate that there are sick people who prey on the fears and threaten the well-being of others."
Andrews is dedicated to the competition, she says. "I don't quit on things. It's not an option for me."
Andrews has been the target of unwanted attention before -- last year, secretly videotaped nude footage of her was distributed on the Internet. At the time, Andrews called the incident a "nightmare," telling Oprah Winfrey she'd never forget when she "opened up the computer [and] could feel my heart pounding."
Last month, Illinois resident Michael David Barrett was sentenced to 30 months in jail for filming Andrews through the peephole of her hotel room door and publishing the footage online.
Fame is something most people shy away from, leaving only a few to entering the rest of us. You can argue that she doesn’t have enough talent to carry her career, that she’s using her “new found 15 minutes of fame” to help her FINE. Reporting college football isn’t the easiest way to make a living, and if you think for one second that anyone unknowingly being photographed/videotaped will be represented in a positive way, you’re delusional. Is she the most attractive women in TV? Who are we to decide? And for you women out there, your opinion is important. You have a right to have your voice heard. Just don’t use that as an excuse to bash the truly average, normal thinking male.
i felt bad for her the fist time this stuff happened, now i don't. she's cause this herself this time. i always watch the show and she acts like an absolute hussy everytime the camera is on her. she should knw better than to act like that after what happened last time. any sane person that just went through this would try to stay OUT or the light, not jump headlong into it.
While the threats against Erin Andrews are wrong and disturbing, and while women certainly have a right to work in media, it nevertheless boggles to mind to think that this woman has put herself and her body on such public display in the aftermath of her earlier "horror story." You'd think that more attention is the last thing she would want right now. What's more, Ms. Andrews is supposed to be a sports JOURNALIST, not an entertainer and there really is a difference. I agree that she seems sadly addicted, at least a little, to fame. A lot of television "journalists" suffer from that affliction, I'm afraid.
THERE ARE TOO MANY SICKOS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO IN LIFE SO THEY WANT TO PICK ON SOMEBODY THAT IS TRYING TO LIVE THEIR LIFE AS NORMAL AS POSSIBLE........GET A LIFE SICKO'S!!!!!
Let me get this straight, someone somewhere (and supposedly they know who he is) is threatening her because the pervert went to jail? How is that her fault? She didn't make the anti-voyeurism laws.
Erin is devastated by having people view her nude body, so much that her entire life is ruined?? I think she loves all the attention and is a real drama queen. This will undoubtedly be the high point in her life. She's a real mental case. This is a meaningless blip of the screen of life, and for her it's the high point of her entire existence. What a pathetic narcissistic nut!!
Something about her is very unlikable. She wont have to worry she will be off the show soon enough she doesn't have any personality so she will be booted pretty quick.
Ms. Andrews continues to say that she just wants to go back to her career. Funny, but I haven't seen too many credible sideline sports reporters shaking their backside for millions of viewers in a revealing dress. She plays the victim well and the sick pervert got what he deserved but she repulses me so for how she is playing this up to move her more into the lime-light. She is a mediocre reporter at best and was hired by ESPN obviously to attract the male audience and not for her sensational, though-provoking, insightful reporting. Earn people's respect by perfecting your craft not by playing the martyr while showing lot's of skin Erin!

I don't think she's that hot. I'll take Bonnie Bernstein any day over Erin Andrews.

Marlene, what are you talking about? Are you some kind of man hater or lesbian? Are you seeing a psychiatrist or are you already on Prozac??

Why would anyone want to threaten her? For what? Because she was the victim of some sleazeball? This is a ridiculous scenario.
