MSNBC's David Shuster in Hot Water Over CNN Pilot

MSNBC anchor David Shuster is no stranger to controversy, but sources say the host's latest stunt may earn him more than a slap on the wrist.

According to a report by The Huffington Post, Shuster recently filmed a pilot for MSNBC's competitor, CNN. Shuster did not appear on his home network this past Friday and will not appear on MSNBC today, leading some to believe that he may have been fired.

TV Newser's Gail Shister reports that MSNBC President Phil Griffin "ripped Shuster a new one over the phone," and that many expect Shuster to receive the same treatment upon his return to the MSNBC offices today. When asked for comment, Shuster told Shister, "I can't talk about it."

Shuster had previously been suspended from the network in 2008 after alleging that Hilary Clinton had "pimped out" daughter Chelsea in order to gain support for her campaign.

MSNBC spokesperson Jeremy Gaines said that if Shuster has, in fact, filmed a pilot for CNN, he will be "punished appropriately."

yo,smitty-you remember he's half white don' you? i guess that makes them half-racist and you half stupid! by the way-did you happen to see the national pole(gannett i believe)that has tea-party numbers at 49% repubs--43% dems-- 8% independents--thats less than half repubs and you more than half stupid!looks like the dems are almost as racist as the repubs!at least by your standerds.

Even the hardcore racists don't have to hate Obama because he is black. He is so obviously EVIL that race is only second on their list. As for Shuster, I don't even think God gives a crap about him.

The whining Tea Partiers are mixing too much of Rush Limbaugh's illegal OxyContin in their tea, because they are acting too delusional. The economy, jobs, etc., were messed up under W's 8 years, but Mr. Obama is expected to work miracles like Jesus? It's amazing how so many forgot that his mother is white. So if I don't like Obama's policy's then I'm a racist? Could be I don't like his white side is that OK? Can we say that he's the first Bi-Racial President or is that to much for you to understand?

While I do agree that there's much more hate towards the President then I expected. I would like to remind you that the majority of white Americans put him in office. I was never so proud as when we elected the smartest man for the job. We chose him because we bought into his vision.

The teabaggers are a group of racists, no question about it. Why would you hold up a sign of our President depicted as a voodoo Hitler? To divide us. Please don't group us all together because our skin is white. This is just what the conservative party wants. I wish we wouldn't give this small group of hate mongers anymore attention because this is the damage they hope to achieve.

Write to the networks and let them know we don't want to see or hear about Teabaggers. Let's not turn on each other and instead stay our course together. We will need each other if we hope to continue to make this world a better place.
