Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy Break Up on Twitter After Five Years Together

After dating for five years, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy have split. The couple revealed the break up news on Twitter in separate tweets. "I'm so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to Jane and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart," McCarthy wrote.

Carrey had kind words for her as well. "Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I'm grateful 4 the many blessings we've shared and I wish her the very best!"

In December 2005, McCarthy began dating Carrey. She officially announced they were living together in April 2008 when she appeared on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' but she made a clear point that they had no plans to marry.

Carrey almost made a mock proposal to McCarthy as a promotion to the film 'Yes Man,' he admitted at the time.

Just last month, 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' Patti Stanger told PopEater that McCarthy deserved a man who would give her a ring. "I love Jim Carrey, and I love my funny girl, Jenny McCarthy. I hope that he gives her a ring. Jenny is my girl. I'd like to see them tie it up," Stanger said.

Most recently, McCarthy had used her fame to become an autism advocate, who condemns vaccines for their possible link to the disorder in children. Her commitment to the cause came after her own son Evan suffered the symptoms of autism for years. She told Time that her prayers come true and Evan has since been cured.

Jenny is a beauty and lovely person with a big heart. I hope she will quickly get past the break up and find a man she can love and depend on. Jim Carrey is handsome, but obviously not the marrying kind. I had hoped that he would change his ways for Jenny.

I didn't think there was a cure for Autism, i'll have to tell my brother & sister-in-law because their youngest son is ausitic, i'm sure they like to know about the cure..

I agree. Cure for autism? She is insane. Her book talked about how awful things were for HER as she helped CURE her sons autism. What about all of the needless tests she put him through, She is a narcissist, that is giving a load of crap out to sell her books. If she read the data she would she that many children with speech delays, etc. are errantly diagnosed with autism. Cure for autism? I wish. My autistic son would be living a normal life right now. She is a horrible woman. I wish that she would just go away. She isn't a has been. She is a never was.

so her kid became 'autistic' after getting vaccines with thimerosol, which has since been shown to have no convincing evidence of a relationship to autism, and guess what, her kid was cured! yet there is no cure for autism!

Hmmmm....thimerisol IS mercury which is the second most damaging neurotoxin known to man. We don't need to eliminate all vacines...we just need to make them safer.

she's not saying that all vaccines are bad, just that some are.
30 years ago, babies had 10 vaccines by the age of 5, present day, they get 36 by the age of 2. Maybe some of those are not needed or maybe some of those don't agree with everyone's system - I mean a lot of people are allergic to even simple things - how do they know that all of these vaccines are safe for everyone??

It seemed like Jim became a "real guy", instead of a constantly funny man, while with Jenny. And they seemed seriously devoted. I feel sad that they've broken up, but we don't know why. Maybe a life of "working for a cause" takes up more time than being a partner. It's noble, but must be hard, as well. It seems they really do love each other, or they would be silent, or at the very least, not speaking so respectfully and warmly about each other.....even though. Best of everything to both of you and your families.

Sooooo sorry to hear this as I adore them both. PopEater: Jenny never said "cured." Evan recovered from autism. Similar to being hit by a bus. You can't be cured. It happened. But you can recover.

as far as what i was reading up there it does say "her prayers were answered.....and he was CURED".... dont know what u were reading but it wasnt on here.
