Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath, Fiancee Expecting Twins

Mark McGrath, frontman of '90s rock staple Sugar Ray, is expecting twins with his fiancée in May.

"I love them already, but I need them to come out so I can really shower them with love," the singer tells PEOPLE. "I can't wait to meet them."

McGrath, 42, and Carin Kingsland, 37, got engaged on New Year's Eve after 16 years of on-and-off dating. Kingsland underwent in vitro fertilization, and now the couple is expecting a baby boy and girl.

"I'm so excited. My DNA paranoia is kicking in: I've got to feed these children. We've got to get the nursery together. And what do you do when you bring the kids home? We're freaking out!" McGrath says, adding, "The first year is going to be gnarly."

McGrath is set to host FOX's 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' in the fall and will tour with Sugar Ray this summer.

Anyone who knows the real McGrath knows that he is an arrogant a-hole. I had the displeasure of meeting him and I wish him nothing but what he gives out to people. Don't believe the man in front of the cameras.

He was amazingly sweet when I met him after one of his shows. I do not think he is arrogant at all. He is so sincere and appreciative of everything.

Did he say gnarly? Who uses that word now?They had in vitro to get pregnant-so they can't use accident as a reason for the pregnancy-MARRY THE GIRL!! What is it anymore that people have kids without marriage-I'm old fashioned-make the kids legit.

As someone who is potentially going to be doing the same thing to get pregnant, I wish them nothing but congratulations.
Who really cares if they're married or not? They've been together 16 years! That's more than most Hollywood hook-ups.

In Vitro should not be given to anyone that isn't married. Lets get back to some good morals and good values people. Stop bringing kids into the world when people are not married. Say what you want about my thread but there is a right and wrong and some of the world doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference anymore.
