Corey Feldman: no public memorial for Haim

Corey Feldman has taken to his blog to announce the cancellation of a public memorial service for his best friend, Corey Haim, who passed away in early March.

Feldman, who starred alongside Haim in eight films, including 'The Lost Boys' and 'Dream a Little Dream,' writes, "Now I must be the bearer of some very disappointing news to many of you out there. After weeks of consideration and planning, the ultimate decision has been made by Corey's mother Judy Haim to not go forward with a public memorial service. Instead we will have a very small private dinner with just a few close friends in LA."

Feldman, who called his 'The Two Coreys' co-star "A wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family and best friend" in a statement issued by his publicist following Haim's death, cites Judy Haim's "tremendous grief" over her son's passing as the reason for canceling the public service, asking friends and fans to instead show their support on Corey's Web site.

Of his decision, he says, "Although I am very sad I am not able to plan the memorial I had envisioned, which would have given both his friends and fans an opportunity to grieve together as one, I must respect the wishes of his mother, and help her in any way I can through this difficult time. Ultimately that is what Corey would have wanted more than anything. To know that his mother is at peace as much as possible in his absence."

My thoughts and prayers go to Corey's Mom. No one should judge these people. Any person that says that they should just get on with it has never lost a loved one themselves. One never gets over a lost loved one, they just learn how to cope. It could take years for his Mom to get on stable ground. Corey Feldman gets an a ok for putting Corey Haim's Mom first.

I am a fan of Corey Haim and he did what most hollywood young stars do today!!! People, forget how good ofa person he was until it to late. I hope you rest in peace nobody on this earth has any right to judge you!!! We all are addicted to something weather it's drugs, food etc!!! God Bless you and your dear mother and friends and fans!!!!
