Tiger Woods Gets Back to Work

In some respects, Tiger Woods' return to golf made it seem like he never left.

While he has vowed to be a new Tiger post infidelity scandal, the familiar scenes of old Tiger were all there: Woods climbing the leader board to sit two shots behind the leader, a polite gallery watching him earnestly and Woods pumping his first when he sunk an eagle putt.

Because Woods has not played in a tournament in the 144 days since the tabloid bombshell revelations dramatically surfaced, his initial tee-shot had significantly more hype and pressure than normal. But Woods shot the ball straight onto the fairway, prompting a cheer from the crowd.

"It felt normal," he said, according to Golf.com. "From there, I just went about my business."

There were some less-normal moments as well. Media scoped for any sign of Wood's estranged wife Elin (she didn't show). Her lack of appearance will be dissected at length.

The spectators were on their best behavior, as expected for the most prestigious tournament in golf. But Augusta National couldn't stop a couple of planes toting banners that poked fun at Woods -- one for his pledge to get back into Buddhism ("Bootyism," the banner read), another mocking claims he needed therapy as a sex addict ("Sex addict? Yeah. Right. Me Too!!").

Afterward, Woods did not put significant meaning to his day on the course. "It means that I'm two shots off the lead," he said. "That's what it means."

"I'm here to play a golf tournament."

Woods also picked up some work in a new Nike commercial. The ad, featuring a silent Woods and the voice of his late father Earl, spawned dozens of Youtube parodies within hours of its first airing. Way to go, Tiger. Keep it up & the green jacket will be yours again.
So what if Elin is not there. I don't think she should be as she has been hounded enough by the media. Furthermore, there is less distraction for Tiger as his focus must be entirely on the game of golf since that is his job. Butt out of their personal life.

wake up folks this is no hero! (White women love tiger...low self esteem along with no self respect....One has to wonder if this man even used protection during his time with these women?
Maybe Elin should bed all the men in the NBA..now that's what I call par for the course!!!

I am a white woman and I don't love Tiger. I agree he has no respect for #1 his kids #2 his wife #3 women. All he really cares about is "other women" (if you can call them women) and golf. Awesome golfer but lousy excuse for a man. With that said it's done,it's over, it was never anyone's business but his and Elin's, time will tell if she is able to forgive. If it were me I'd been gone.

I agree in that Tiger is a dispicable husband and a damn good golfer. And I really do get how a lot of people feel about him, seeing as he duped or fooled them by projecting and capitalizing on a squeaky clean good guy image. Point blank, he's a fraud in that respect. However I really don't care about him or golf. Him being on the green didn't do anything for me before the scandal and does absolutely nothing for me now. I can't stand golf.
