Is Robert Pattinson Going To Play Kurt Cobain?

Robert Pattinson has landed the role of Kurt Cobain in a film about the grunge rocker's life, the British newspaper The Sun is claiming.

Citing a "source" Britain's largest newspaper says the casting of Pattinson is a key condition for Cobain's widow Courtney Love, who reportedly has a large role in the film's production.

"Robert has been calling and e-mailing her non-stop," the source is quoted in the article. "But he is her number one choice to play Kurt."

The article states that Love's choice to play herself is Scarlett Johansson. "She is adamant Scarlett will play her," the source tells the newspaper.

Does this sound crazy? Kind of. But at the same time, the Sun features graphics of what Cobain would look like Pattinson-ized and it was pretty intriguing. Further, Rob does love his grunge and his guitar.

Love is also reportedly in contact with director David Fincher ('Fight Club') to direct the film, which has the working title 'All Apologies.'

joe anderson!! great choice!!

My problem is not the fact that Pattinson looks nothing like Kurt (Who could forget those bright blue eyes?), or that he's in the cast of Twilight, or that for a large part of his career he has been playing semi-awkward, bashful teenage boys.
No, my biggest problem here is the voice. Cobain's voice had the mystical quality of sounding both like an ash tray and an angel. Pattinson simply does not have the grit in his voice, and I haven't heard much of a melodic tone there, either. Perhaps I'm wrong, but Kurt's voice was sort of... important, you know?

Oh wow, that would be terrible. I think Joe Anderson from Across the Universe would be a much better choice, but no matter who ends up getting the role, I don't really want to give Courtney Love any money... especially while she's exploiting her dead husband. Maybe I'll get it off a torrent or something, no way am I paying for it.

Courtney choosing this, Coutney choosing that..She's not only back in the spotlite she lost years ago, but also is well known for fabricating to the nth degree that one must question if it's a lie, and therefore the movie may only touch on the truth too of a well known caring, creative, yet sevely depressed man. Will I see it? Of course, why not as I have every snippet of him from books, magazines, MTV recordings, etc. all before he took his precious life.

eh, it's simple. i'm protesting this movie if it's actually true. i don't respect him as an actor, and i really rather not have his play the role of someone that a generation of grunge lovers (including me) looked up to. uh, no!?! scarlett, i like her. get a better 'kurt'. thank you.

HIM!! to play KURT!!! no way!!! he looks nothing like kurt.. i cant beleive im saying this.. and i will never tell people this but... I sorta agree with Courtney on this one... I dont think Ryan Gossling is good for it either...I know.. you cant get perfect but there has to be SOMEONE who looks more like Kurt out there.. I am probly the biggest most respectfull Nirvana fan out there...and pattinson i guess does act just the slightest bit like Kurt.. but not close enough.. sorry man..

Kurt Cobain was a LOSER! All he wanted to do was be in a band and get famous and then when it happened he cried about it the whole time, did way too many drugs because he needed an escape from his "hard life" and then he blew his head off leaving a defenseless little girl to be raised alone by the druggie Courtney Love of all people. Courtney Love is too stupid to have gotten away with killing Kurt. Kurt was just a joke. I actually think that Rob is way too good to play Kurt, however he's a talented enough actor to do it extremely well if he so chose.
