Anna Torv, Mark Valley Call it Quits

So much for 'Fringe' benefits: Former co-stars Anna Torv and Mark Valley have ended their marriage, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The notoriously press shy couple, who met on the set of the hit Fox series, were married in Dec. 2008 in a quiet ceremony after just a few months of dating. The news was revealed to the press a few months later.

"I think [Anna] is just a fantastic actor and I really like working with her," Valley told the AP at the time. "She's my favorite on the show, to be honest with you."

No word yet on why the couple has split.

Torv, 31, remains on 'Fringe' as FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham. Valley, 45, left the show in 2009 and now stars in the action drama 'Human Target.' (Watch our exclusive video interview with Mark Valley here.)

Last month, Fox renewed 'Fringe' for a third season.

I like Fringe, esp. the kooky scientist/father. Wish it had a little more punch ala Lost. I noticed from day one that Torv looks just like a PRETTY Claire Danes (who looks more like a dude than a woman). Danes would look like Torv if she was more feminine...but they sure do look a-like otherwise. Especially in the show where she wears severe clothing and hair style. Unlike in the pix above. I don't know why those who are co-stars are quick to marry. Most of them, if not all, just end in divorce. It's the long days and working together that causes the situation for them to hook-up. After the series or movie ends, so does the marriage/relationship.

So they meet on a set, mate like swallows, then flake off to new roles in other shows, leading to divorce. Whadda buncha putzes!

Mark is a West Point Graduate witb a degree in Engineering and math. Brilliant, handsome, creative and structured. She is a pretty 31 yr old from Australia with a nice accent who is described as estranged from her father. He was too smart for her and she needed a daddy who was an Aussie surfing coach with the same accent. If either or both of them are sipping too much vino time to put it down and think more critically.
