On 'SNL,' Tina Fey Brings Back Sarah Palin & Justin Bieber Tries Comedy

16-year-old pop singer Justin Bieber visited 'SNL' on Saturday as the musical guest. He sang 'Baby' and 'U Smile,' with backup dancers who seemed to not tone down their dance routine to fit the small stage they were given. Host Tina Fey described the young singer as a boy whose "smile is like watching a baby bunny sniff a tiny flower." Bieber even tried his hand at comedy in a sketch about a teacher, played by Fey, with a crush on a super-cute student. Watch:

With The Sarah Palin Network, Fey finds a way to stick it to Obama, Jay Leno and Katie Couric all at once.

According to Jezebel, Fey's appearance wasn't as well received as some had hoped. Some viewers were upset by Fey's fantasies over her young student (Bieber). "Fey herself is, of course, anything but pathetic by the standards set out here: she is enormously successful, a married mother, and has her attractiveness validated by both women's fashion and men's magazine covers," one Jezebel commenter said.

PopEater fans were split on the episode's skit. "Like Tina, that Justin kid annoys me," said PopEater's Facebook fan, Twila Smith.

Madelyn Lubin Schor loved the show and gushed that "it was one of the best 'SNL' [episodes] I've since the '80s when the original players were on like Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Jane Curtain, Gilda Radner."

I think the young lad is an excellant singer and performer, and obviously has no fear of stage or camera. He looks great, and I predict he's going to be a mainstay in the industry and a very, very big STAR in the future, probably in motion picture acting as well.

Yeah, they should be ashamed about his rocketing singing career and appearance on SNL. Can he sing? Don't know, did watch that part. But there are many people who "can't sing" who've made millions of dollars. Look at Bob Dylan and Neil Young, for example. Yes, they write, too, but they have terrible voices. And as for old guys dissing his hair, looks like the what everyone was wearing in the 60s and 70s.

you make me feel sick. have you seen him sing live, he is a very talented singer for his age. How nice of you to call a 16 year old boy a troll, I hope your proud of that. Grow up.

I agree, the show should be cancelled. If this is the best on your Saturday night, your one boring individual. Hey Tina Faye, do you do anything funny at all without doing it at another persons expense? Once, well ok, but over and over again? Who even watches this show anymore.

Tiny Fey never really has been that funny. I didn't watch SNL because I knew she was going to be on there. They have really scraped the bottom of the barrel to bring her back to the show.

I bet you didn't even watch the show did you? I am guessing you were reading Sarah Palin's book all alone in your mom's basement. This show was great. Tina is so good at showing just how easy it is to make fun of the Palin phenomena.

When you read the article, the final paragraph quotes some Marilyn woman who says she thinks Bill Murray was part of the original cast. Wrong. Bill Murray replaced Chevy Chase after season one. Nice try though.

Tina Fey is spot on as Sarah Palin, but I didn't like the skit with Tina in the role of a teacher crushing on a student. To me, that one was sick. Haven't we had enough of that real life sick behavior. Anything exploiting minors should be taboo.
