'Celebrity Apprentice' Bret Michaels To His Appendix: 'You're Fired!'

Like the song says, every appendix has its time to come out. For 'Celebrity Apprentice' star Bret Michaels, that time was yesterday.

The 47-year-old rocker and former Poison frontman had to be rushed to the hospital early Monday morning for an emergency appendectomy.

Keep those memorial lighters in your pockets. People.com quotes a rep saying the 'The Rock of Love' star, "remains in the hospital, is doing well and beginning the recovery process."

While he won't be a Fallen Angel forever, the removal of the appendix has taken its toll. "Michaels, who has been known to perform under extreme conditions that would make most performers cancel, will unfortunately have no choice but to reschedule some of his April tour dates," the rep adds.

Michaels had thought it was a severe case of the flu at first. The rocker has been frequently hospitalized for his diabetic condition and gives himself insulin shots.

The human appendix has no known biological function and is not needed to rock.

For your information, yes, lots of people have seen him without a hat or bandana. I for one have seen him. Not to mention he was on Rock Of Love and it showed him at times without any hat or bandana. It is just his trademark, and has been for years. The hat and bandana is just part of his rock and roll lifestyle. He has no reason to hide anything as he has the best hair that money can buy! lol Bret made that statement on Rock Of Love, so obviously he has had some work done, (plugs or something) but he is NOT bald as he is often seen without the hat, and he is NOT wearing a wig either, as I know too many women who have pulled his hair! lol Anyway, I agree with the previous post who said kick a guy when he's down why don't ya? Who gives a rats behind about the hair! Bret wishing you a speedy recovery and much love! Also I pray that your daughter Rain is going to be OK. I cried with you this past Sunday when you got the news. Good luck on Celebrity Apprentice!

Actually, mj, I remember him specifically mentioning on ROL that he COULDN'T drink b/c of his diabetes. Now, I didn't watch the bus version of the show, but the first two seasons I don't recall EVER seeing him drinking. He knows how to party and have fun without the booze and drugs.

As for what you saw on Rock Of Love, Bret was NOT really drinking like that. Him drinking like that was all an act. The girls, well, that's a different story! lol He could never drink like that, and live! But, you touched upon something that I had not thought of, and maybe Bret has not thought of either. You said he was not being a good role model for younger people that have diabetes. They see him drinkng it up and he is diabetic, and they think they can do so too. Even though he is not really drinking like that on ROL, the younger people do not know that, they do not know it's all an act. So while Bret is not drinking like a fish (which is good for him) his younger fans see him drinking like a fish and see he is OK, and think they can drink like a fish and they will be OK too (which is not good for them). So, I see the point, and like I said, even though Bret is NOT drinking like that, I doubt when Bret was filming the show thought about being a role model to younger people with diabetes.

I saw him a couple of weeks ago and he took his hat off.It looked like he had hair.But what's the big deal.He's so much fun to watch and such a good entertainer.Mr. Michaels...just get better....PLEASE!!!!

He was out drunk, driving, and was THE cause of the wreck that crippled his friend, and people are supposed to feel pity for this turd? Ohhhhhhhhhhh HELL no. It's an operable, non-terminal, non-life threating, medical issue. Big friggin deal.
