Jim Carrey Insists It's a Twitter 'Breakthrough' Not 'Breakdown'

If Jim Carrey's Twitter page is any indication of his mental state-of-mind, then his break-up with girlfriend Jenny McCarthy has had some serious impact.

Since announcing the break-up on the page on April 6, Carrey has turned up the strange. Knocking Tiger's Wood's wife Elin for Tiger's infidelity was only the beginning -- it turns out. But as Carrey himself explains on the site: "This is no breakdown! It's a breakthrough! And if you'll just loosen these straps, I'll show you the difference!"

On April 10, he amended his comments toward Elin Woods, but without apologizing for them. "RT I want 2 make it CLEAR that I do not condone infidelity at all, but 2 some degree the responsibilty 4 it is shared by both people!"

This has been followed by clearly ignored professional advice. "My people called and said I might have to tame my tweets a little." (He didn't listen.)

There is a foray into another hot-button issue -- Sandra Bullock. "So, you guys probably don't feel like talkin' about Sandra Bullock, right? I'M KIDDING! JEEEZE! I'm a little on edge. Cut me some slack!"

Finally there is a long discussion about Carrey killing his superego/avatar/other-personality. The Tweets, in all their unusual glory, read:

► "Breaking News! Jim Carrey's ambassador to the world, is dead! He is survived by me, the actual Jim Carrey, who has opinions about stuff."
► "I am grateful for my avatar's many yrs of dedicated service, but nowone has ever won the Tour De France while peddling." (In a later Tweet, Carrey added the key word "back," as in "back-peddling.")
► "so I killed him, I do not plan 2 bow to expectations or to be confined by the fear of losing altitude in the 'statusphere'! (my word)"
► "I have freed Truman, at long last! I am now free 2 be my whole self, which includes a somewhat contemplative nature,a yen 4 sociology."

Sounds like someone needs to shut the computer down and take a nap. Wait, he's got an answer to that too. "Some folks out there are worried that I stay up too late but their fundamental mistake is in assuming that I haven't moved to Fiji! |^•snore"

Jim Carrey always has an opinion on something and maybe he's venting right now due to his break up with Jenny. I've followed his career since it started and he's a great guy. He just needs to be with family and friends right now.

Jim suffers from Bi-Polar and it seems as if he isn't on his meds. Bi-Polar is a devastating disease and it is so very hard to keep stable even on meds. I read several years ago he was treating it with all natural stuff...no medications. Well it is impossible to do that. I pray he gets the help he needs..He is a good guy!

I seem to remember a period of "breakdown" with Jim a while back. Even celebrities aren't invincible,some are very vulnerable due to high stress and break-ups.Their lives differ only to mega-bucks,their personal lives remain open to every illness every human suffers.

Gloria,you got it right,my brother is bipoler and does stupid things like this when he's off his meds.Hes the nicest guy in the world when he takes his meds but look out when he doesnt.A bad situation usually triggers him to stop his meds like,losing a job,breakup of a relationship,anything of advanced stress.Jim Carey is diagnosed bipoler and exhibits the symptoms.

Carrey is probably trying "natual stuff" because traditionally accepted and used meds can have significant, life changing side effects. Because bi-polar illness can be worsened/induced by stress or over stimulation, it is VERY difficult to get the correct dosage regulated. Problems that most people NEVER have to face are experienced daily by those who suffer with bi-polar illness. Just expecting them to "take their meds" daily is not even one-tenth of the struggle! Accept Jim for who he is...a very bright, articulate, talented and manic guy. His personality will probably go up and down forever, but we can love him anyway!

I used to love Jim Carrey. However, he is following the same self destructive path of so many celebrities. A sure sign they are in for a crash is when they start claiming to have a zen for sociology. Thank God he has no power over anyone's life besides his own.

Oh I agree with Jim. No cheating on your spouse is just nasty however what IS the other side of the story. Yes Tiger takes all the blame but I just wonder about Elin. And I know I'm not alone.
