Tracy Morgan Is Glad He Dropped Out of High School

In a recent interview with the NY Post, '30 Rock' actor Tracy Morgan admits dropping out of high school helped him get where he is today. "I'm glad I dropped out of high school, man. I wouldn't be where I'm at. I would have had a net. I'm glad I didn't have anything to fall back on, man, because that made me go for my dreams that much harder."

Morgan is currently starring in 'Death at a Funeral,' alongside Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Luke Wilson and Zoe Saldana. Morgan admits to watching the original movie when it first came out and notes there is only one big difference.

"I watched the first one when it came out, and I thought that it was incredible that we got to do our version of it. It's basically the same movie. It's just that we're black, and they're British," Morgan said.

And while he's been busy acting, he admits he's neglected his Twitter followers, who launched a campaign to get him on Twitter. "I haven't abandoned it. I've been moving at the speed of light lately. I'm in a different movie every two months. I should go back on so I don't neglect my followers. But they see what's going on, so it's not like, 'Where has he been?'"

While I understand his meaning, I don't think he should have worded his statement that way. I think a person should always have something to fall back on. What if he got out there and couldn't make it he would have no education try getting a decent job as a high school drop out these days. It's hard. He almost makes it seem as if he's glorifying dropping out. It's like high school boys'college drop outs who go straight to the NBA that job is not guaranteed if you get hurt.

Another hollywood "brainiac"
Do some research and you'll find a lot of these people are drop outs.
It amazes me how people actually listen and look up to these people liek sean Penn , Susan Sarandon etc,.

He's funny and I like to watch him but, his own lack of intelligence is why he allowed himself to propagate the misconception that the uneducated will do as well as the educated.

Another nit wit who can join the ranks of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan and influence our young people. No wonder our society is in decline as that cesspool called Hollywood oozes out these people who make it fashionable to be addicts, have personality disorders, and to be ignorant.

You fools are only hating because of jealousy and anger at your own unfortunate and uneventful lives. Tracy is rich, saying that he's glad he went for his dreams is not a bad thing at all. If only more people had the heart to pursue their dreams, life would be that much more interesting. Instead there's plenty of people who went to college and are now spending their lives paying off their student loans, spiraling into debt.

He got a fortunate audience of Cosby and others at an early age, got a leg up, then was fortunate to be sucessful. Actually EXTREMELY lucky because he he had to do it on talent along (and no initial boost) he's have wished he'd stayed in school. The dude is NOT funny...what's funny about acting low intelligence without social skills and a big mouth? I'm sure that the message cosby wish he'd nipped in the bud.
