Madonna 'Has No Idea What 'Glee' Is'

With the whole television-watching world talking about the much-awaited 'Madonna episode' of 'Glee' airing next week, you'd think Madge herself would be brushing up like a 'Gleek' in order to see what all the fuss is about. Sadly, the Material Girl doesn't even own a television, her pal tells me, and she has no intention of watching the funny FOX comedy. Bummer! Madonna's No Fan of 'Glee'

It seems as if everyone on the planet is planning on tuning in to watch 'Glee' -- everyone, that is, except Madonna, whose songs will be featured on the show next week.

"Madonna doesn't have a TV and has no idea what 'Glee' is," a friend of the Material Girl tells me. "The show did ask her if she wanted to make an appearance in the much-hyped Madonna episode. She said 'no thanks' and, to be honest, she would rather they sing an Elton John song than butcher one of hers."

It's true that artists have no control over who sings their songs on TV, although Madonna will make over $100,000 in royalties from the 'Glee' episode that contains her material.

Not bad for an artist who says yes to 'Marriage Ref' but no to 'Glee.' At least we got our Madonna eye candy by seeing Jane Lynch in a cone-bra.

Why 'Idol' Is Nervous About Adam Lambert's Return

Adam Lambert is under strict instructions to keep his hands -- and tongue -- to himself when he takes center stage on 'American Idol' this week.

"'Idol' does not want a repeat performance of what Adam did at last year's American Music Awards, where he simulated sex and kissed a male member of his band," an insider tells me. "The producers are confident that Adam will stick to their rules, however, they are taking no chances and making sure they have a 3-second delay on the live show, just in case Mr. Lambert goes rogue."

Sources tell me the other bone of contention was that Adam didn't want to perform in front of the judges.

Whenever a big star appears on 'Idol,' Simon and his three friends generally leave. Last week, Rihanna refused to take the stage until the judges had left, however, I hear this will not happen for Adam. Even in Adam's post-'Idol' career, Simon's still ready to pounce.

Which 'Today' Host Just Ran a Triathlon?

Of all the great celebrities that participated in the Nautica South Beach Triathlon, no one shined brighter than the 'Today Show's' Natalie Morales. After finishing the race in 2:52:17, my new favorite anchor was all smiles signing autographs and even giving out training tips (lots of sunscreen and water!).

Natalie laughed that the hardest part of the race was definitely the swimming, saying she wanted them to rescue her from the water, 'Baywatch'-style. After raising over $175,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the classy lady flew back to New York for work Monday morning on 'Today.' We think her back-and-forth with Kitty Kelley might be more exhausting than the race!

EXCUSE ME!!! As a member of the television watching world I can tell you that the "whole television watching world" is not talking about the Madonna episode, or for that matter any other episode of Glee. I for one have only recently heard about it, have no desire to see it, and this is the first time I've ever seen anything about it in print. The only reason I looked at this is because the link mentioned Madonna.

Some artist do have control. Led Zep has to give permission for people to sing their songs and there sue that permission clause as well. I don't believe that Madonna has never heard of "Glee". You don't need to own a TV to have heard of that show. I don't watch "Glee" but I do read the NYTimes so, I know what it is.

Adam Lambert was perfect on AI. Those poor AI contestants are awful though. After Adam, it's all downhill at this point but he was an excellent mentor!

I find these Adam Lambert scoops very hard to believe! Adam performed the whole season of Idol last year perfectly fine. This is just some publicity buzz to make people tune in to see if he will do something crazy. Which they don't really need to do because the ratings were already way up from last week for last night.

Idol is always on a 3 second delay, and Rihanna's performance was pre-taped, that's why the judges were there. Jason Derulo's performance was live, that's why the judges were there.

This is a LIE. She has a TV, but she doesn't normally watch it. The Glee creator wrote Madonna a letter asking her if they could do a tribute episode and she agreed to it and let them use her whole back catalog. She is aware of Glee, regardless of whether she will watch it or not. I think she might watch it though, with Lourdes.

Absolutely right on....the writer of this article must feel like a jerk now as it was well publicized that Madonna not only knew about it but thought it was fantastic that they dedicated the entire show to her music. She purposely answered the critics as she wanted to set the record straight as to her total awareness of it.

The whole story on Adam Lambert is BS! There is always a 3 second delay and the only reason the judges were not there for Rihanna was because it was a taped performance! Adam I'm sure, couldn't care less if the judges were there or not. Besides the fact, Adam Lambert's manager is Simon Fuller the creator of American Idol.

This article is a blatant lie. Madonna is in fact ecstatic that the Glee cast is doing a tribute to her, and she is a fan of the show. She has been quoted calling Mr. Shuester "adorable" and that the show is "Fun to watch". I don't know who this friend is, but this is a nonstory.
