Mel Gibson Reportedly Splits From Russian Girlfriend

Mel Gibson and his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva have reportedly called it quits after a headline-heavy romance that began with Gibson's divorce and eventually led to the birth of a child together. A PEOPLE source claims the couple have parted ways after having "drifted apart."

According to a PEOPLE source, Mel and Oksana are "both working hard on their careers and trying to raise a sweet baby together. They're still friends and they'll both raise Lucia together."

UsMagazine confirms the split as well, adding that they two broke up "months ago" but remain "very friendly."

Gibson and Grigorieva made headlines across the world when their affair led Robyn Gibson -- Mel's wife of nearly 30 years and mother of seven of his children -- to file for divorce in April of 2009. Upon announcing the divorce, the couple released a statement saying: "Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so."

Just a month after the divorce papers were filed, the new couple announced that they were expecting, and soon after revealed that they were engaged. A wedding date was never publicly announced.

Grigorieva has a son with former '007' star Timothy Dalton. She is a Russian model and musician who released an album in the summer of 2009. Gibson even directed a music video for her song 'Beautiful Heartbreak,' which you can watch below:

Gibson and Grigorieva then announced that they were expecting a child together, and in October the couple welcomed a daughter.

"It's not like I was planning to meet Mel specifically. Life happens. There was a working relationship for a long time. I thought he was happily married until I was reassured otherwise. And then it happened," Grigorieva said of their burgeoning relationship.

Well, after watching the video, I finally see why he was attracted to her. Her still photos do not do her justice. However, was knowing her worth the heartache their relationship has caused and will cause so many people and to have lasted such a short time? I don't think so.

Dal is right. Religious people, specially the fundamentalist kind, are the most hypocritical. The Bible Belt has the most divorce and teenage pregancy rates. Atheists and agnostics are actually the most stable people. Morals have nothing to do with religion, unfortunately. Religion has done a lot of damage to the world (see Islam) and is doing the same to this country. Mel Gibson is sooooo Catholic but cheated on his wife with this money hungry ho. Of course it could not last. Yes, she looks just like the Octomom!

What it boils down to is today's women are nothing but skanks. They could care less if a man is married, and a man will hop into bed with the skanks. No one seems to have any morals or values anymore. This is a very sad time we live in.

Like most mid life crisis males, Gibson is now sitting alone, probably wondering why he treated his wife of 30 years like she did not exist. Young women and old men are a natural oxymoron; the woman uses her charms to ladder up to the top and the guy thinks he is 21 again. There is a long way between May and December.

No big surprise here. With all the birth control in the world having a baby together could have been avoided. I believe she deliberately got pregnant because now she will be set for atleast the next 18 years receiving child support in probably the 10's of thousands of dollars per month that Mel will shell out. How convenient for her! Mel needs to stick with woman his own age not the age of his children!

Who really cares anymore about Mel Gibson, as he just sinks lower & lower! I'm not supprised about anything a person who do, leaving a wife & 7 children after almost 30 years of marriage. She's now "0 for 2", having 2 kids and no marriages, some piece of work! Let them both sliver off back into the sick world they appear to enjoy wallowing in!
