Mel Gibson Reportedly Splits From Russian Girlfriend

Mel Gibson and his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva have reportedly called it quits after a headline-heavy romance that began with Gibson's divorce and eventually led to the birth of a child together. A PEOPLE source claims the couple have parted ways after having "drifted apart."

According to a PEOPLE source, Mel and Oksana are "both working hard on their careers and trying to raise a sweet baby together. They're still friends and they'll both raise Lucia together."

UsMagazine confirms the split as well, adding that they two broke up "months ago" but remain "very friendly."

Gibson and Grigorieva made headlines across the world when their affair led Robyn Gibson -- Mel's wife of nearly 30 years and mother of seven of his children -- to file for divorce in April of 2009. Upon announcing the divorce, the couple released a statement saying: "Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so."

Just a month after the divorce papers were filed, the new couple announced that they were expecting, and soon after revealed that they were engaged. A wedding date was never publicly announced.

Grigorieva has a son with former '007' star Timothy Dalton. She is a Russian model and musician who released an album in the summer of 2009. Gibson even directed a music video for her song 'Beautiful Heartbreak,' which you can watch below:

Gibson and Grigorieva then announced that they were expecting a child together, and in October the couple welcomed a daughter.

"It's not like I was planning to meet Mel specifically. Life happens. There was a working relationship for a long time. I thought he was happily married until I was reassured otherwise. And then it happened," Grigorieva said of their burgeoning relationship.

I used to love Mel and never missed one of his movies, but now I can't stand him. Ever since his anti-semitic rant (I'm not Jewish, just offended), and now his hyper-hypocritcal divorce from a woman who was faithful, always out of the limelight, mothered his 7 original kids. He's such a devout Catholic that he built a chapel in his back yard, but gets a divorce!?!?!?! Now he's just another loser to me.

I dont understand why these older men think these young women want them. Most of the women are money hungry so they get knocked up to make sure the money will roll in after they dump the old guy. Look at Larry King and his young wife. There isnt that much money in the world that I could stomach having sex with Larry. Mel Gibson maybe but it would be for love. There is no fool like a old fool. I used to have a crush on Mel in high school-well that was a loooong time ago, apparently. Mel looks super old, and she looks young enough to be his granddaughter. Oh well, to each their own.

Yes she really does look like the Octomom. I thought this the moment I saw her. She is a typical Eastern European gold digger.
We could call her the serial celebrity baby momma. I guess Mel should have asked around Hollywood about her; or did he think somehow he was different and that she really, really, really loved him. I guess he is getting what he deserves. Someone wrote you cannot build happiness on someone else's heartbreak and this is so true. I try to be an observant Catholic and Mel's grandstanding about what a good Catholic he is really makes me sick in light of his reprehensible behavior. I know no one is perfect and that we all "fall", but gee whiz, Mel does not even seem to make an effort at being a decent human being anymore.
