Gwyneth Paltrow Won't Play Nicole Kidman's Wife
Gwyneth Paltrow will no longer be playing Nicole Kidman's wife in the upcoming film, 'The Danish Girl,' after deciding she would rather spend more time with her family, the actress tells
Harper's Bazaar.
The 'Iron Man' actress signed up for the movie back in November, replacing the quitting Charlize Theron. 'Danish Girl' tells the story of a man who undergoes the first sex-change operation (Kidman) and the wife that stands by her.
Paltrow explained that after the film's location was changed, she couldn't bear spending much time away from husband Chris Martin and her young kids, Apple, 6, and Moses, 4.
"Some days I feel like everyone in my world has plugged themselves into my kidneys. I'm so tired," she said. "When I pulled out, he (Martin) said, 'I think you'll be happy with your decision.'"
The star's rep concurred, saying, "Chris and Gwyneth have spent a lot of time apart. This way she gets more family time."
This leaves producers scrambling to find another actress to play alongside Kidman.

How about Jennifer Aniston to replace her? Talk about "perfect"?

Gwyneth Paltrow is nothing more than a self centered brat. She thinks of herself as royalty being an actress living the hollywood dream. We should all bow to her and listen to her advice as she is a role model and thought of as royalty among us. This is what she told a friend of mine.
PLEASE, she is plain to look at and named her kid "apple". Stick to your fairy land life but don't tell the rest of that you are a role model by staying home to be with your family. You are just playing the part to get people to look up to you as some sort of admired figure. That is what she wants you to believe. She looks down on everyone behind your back.

How about casting an unknown actress?

hey ...........................Why not Gabourey Sidibe in the role after her precious preformance. She would be perfect and keep adding and working on her acting chops. With a mix of a little something for all.
Doesn't sound like my kind of subject matter for a movie. I do like Nicole Kidman, but I won't have this movie on my "Bucket" List to see. So, I could care less who gets the role.

I agree with you Jen, They played in a movie together before and they were great!
The yokel above who was so shocked by Nicole Kidman. Choosing roles like a woman sexually attracted to the naked little boy in her bathtub with her naked arse. Must have missed the one where Nicole played Diane Arbus. Now THAT was a shocker.

Aren't there better stories to be told than this one? I am a fan of Nicole Kidman, but will have no desire to see this film.

The Danish Girl is just another dark, weird Nicole Kidman film. I do not blame the others for not following through. I feel sorry for the person who takes the part. If I were an actor I wouldn't take parts that I would have a hard time living with for the rest of my life. Why does Nicole choose these awful parts?

That's too bad, because Gwyneth would have been perfect in it. Old rumors had it that-(like Mariel Hemingway)- she could swing both ways and was pretty wild in the sack! Oh well, everyone gets old!

Let Crusty play the man...he might get a crush on Kidman

I would Love to see Jennifer Garner take this role on. She is a great actress and I think she and Nicole would do each other justice. I also like Katherine Heigl even tho she is more of a TV star! How about it, Jennifer or Katherine!

Renee Zellwegger, she could play the understanding wife in this film.

Oh, thank you Janice...She simply "plays" characters to promote filth and depravity... That's much better... Good job Gwen, I'd stay away from this stinker role too, family time will be so much better than kissing Kidman anyhoo. It's about time SOMEbody stood up for family values in Whorrywood!

The Danish Girl is a fabulous book, and its a good screenplay,, its ground breaking for the ear it was written and based on a true story,, you Americans are so anti everything bashing everything that is not puritanical,, I am not gay but I am always interested in seeing any film or reading a book that shows convinction to your believes, a triumph of your truth and spirit,, what most americans need to learn,, wether you like the story basis or not, you don't have to see it,, but i wish most people would stop being so judgmental and critical of anything that is not white bread middle america,, I am happy that an actress has the CHOICE and the finanical means to NOT work and stay with her family, good choice, i wish i had as I had to work through and missed out a lot of my childs years,,, I know the project to be worthy,, and a challange for an actress, and I am certain one who is a REAL actress will step up to the plate, and i hope audiences can embrace seeing something different not on 3d or stupid action permises,, go deeper people
