Is Sandra Bullock Being Too Calculating by Choosing to Talk to George Lopez?

Does Sandra Bullock's decision to reportedly give her first televised interview since Jesse James' infidelity scandal broke to her buddy George Lopez, just as his TBS series is bumped to a later time slot in the fall for Conan O'Brien, show a calculating side of Bullock the business woman, eager to see her protege succeed, or is she simply making the decision to open up about her personal life to a close friend once she is at a safe distance from her husband's scandalous affairs?

"I think George is a great friend of hers and he's been very supportive in her time of need. Like any BFF, she's going to be there for him and she knows she can trust him to not talk or ask about anything awkward," explains Bonnie Fuller, editor-in-chief of HollywoodLife.com.

But as much as George will take pains to treat Sandy with kid gloves, Sandy will be giving George the gift of big ratings. Enter Sandra the businesswoman. Bullock has a vested interest in the success of her friend George's show. The fall will be tough going for Lopez as well, as his popular late night program is pushed back to make room for Conan O'Brien, who the network is doing cartwheels over landing. A get like Sandra's first interview is worth its weight in gold for Lopez. Not only is she helping out George, whose sitcom she executive produced years ago, but she is solidifying her reputation as a loyal friend and business partner -- the polar opposite of her lying and cheating husband.

"She's my fairy godmother," Lopez said in an interview with E! last week. "She knows how much I care about her. And, you know, when times are tough, friends step up."

In November, both parties will be stepping up to the plate, George as protector and Sandra as benefactor.

It seems like a win-win, but from a PR perspective, some experts say that waiting so long to come out with her side of this sad story will be bad timing. What Bullock hasn't taken into account is the short attention span America has for scandal. Sure, her husband's affairs with scads of skanky women may be all over the media today, but in a few months no one will care. A new scandal will replace this one. Come fall, Charlie Sheen could be in and out of rehab a couple of times, Larry King will be married again and Justin Bieber will be having an affair with Tina Fey.

"She must have her reasons as to why she is waiting so long to set the record straight, but without knowing it just doesn't make sense. Between now and November people will be diverted by another scandal, so why would she want to rehash the news and throw her life into turmoil again? I guess we will have to wait and see," says PR guru Rebecca Brooks, President of The Brooks Group.

Sandra Bullock is not obligated to speak to anyone...I believe it has been said that she and George Lopez are friends...which means she trusts him.

OhLori, I so agree with you, leave the lady alone. My ex cheated on me and it took me some time to talk about it. Sandra is such a sweet woman, I love her movies! If she wants to talk about that ....... fine, if she does not, fine. That man is just so selfish, and as many people have said, Sandra, good riddance, you can do 1MM times better.

God bless you Sandra, and make more movies for us.

Lopez was interviewed and stated no such meeting bedtween him and Bullock has been set up for his show. Why do these snarky journalists keep running incorrect stories by using such words as "reportedly" when the story has been proven wrong? Do they think readers are really so stupid?

First of all to liesma....I agree with you except for one thing...many readers are pretty stupid. They buy all these trashy tabloid mags and believe what they read.
Secondly, Sandra doesn't owe anyone an interview. And why on earth would she want to speak about something when her world has been turned upside down and she is in great pain? If and when she gives an interview, it will be when she feels emotionally ready to handle it.

We the public really know nothing about sandra Bullock except what we see in her movies. She may be lovely or maybe not. In time we will know. Just ask Tiger!

Sandra need's to stop hiding she is not the first women to be cheated on, after all she knew Jesse was married when she got involved with him so,grow up stop hidding like a poor soul, when you did the same thing to Jesse's ex. while they were still togeather, she look's like a fool hiding under those stupid hat's.

Sandra will be hurt by George Lopez as well. George positions himself as the family man...a good husband. George cheats on his wife and brags about it to friend Cheech Marin . Lopez was having himself serviced by call girls in Las Vegas while getting his wife to give him a kidney.

Did I read this right? Sandra will go on George's show in November? She would have moved on to another guy by then. The story of how she is doing and WHAT she has been doing will be old news by then and we certainly would have lost interest.

Sandra has made Geroge. She is very giving. She will learn in time that Lopez is a cheat. He hides his affairs and is well known to tell male friends about his call girls in Las Vegas...I heaqrd him talk...and he was risking his wife's health with his actions and he was working to get her kidney..He has played Sandra

Sandra is under no obligation to talk about the implosion of her marriage and her feelings about it. I doubt that she is planning to talk about when she appears on the Lopez show. She is helping a good friend.
