Apologies to our readers out there who are also husbands, because Dave Barnes is about to make you look bad. The Mississippi-based singer-songwriter wrote the lovestruck tune 'God Gave Me You' as an ode to his wife, and even featured her at the end of his romantic new video. As far as doting spouses go, Barnes sets the bar high."I believe that people are built for community with each other. We often times take relationship for granted," Barnes tells PopEater. "I wrote 'God Gave Me You' because I'm thankful for my wife, and how she makes me a better person."

This sounds a bit similar to the song Crush by David Archuleta, but otherwise, a catchy tune. :)

This a great video and a great song!! His music keeps getting better and better with every album!! This is proof of injustice in this world, because Lady Gaga is on the radio and not him.

What a great tribute to the Great Matchmaker and the One who knows exactly when to place people in our lives who can make a difference and bring us closer to God.
You have all got to see him live. He put on a great show in Chicago. Great sound, great songs and great laughs.

It's beautiful songs like this that show how much God blesses people...through trials in life, with a loving spouse, with talents to do good work for Him and praise Him, to touch others lives, to inspire others, and to make another persons day. I know that this song opened my eyes to those that I am blessed with and it inspired me to not give up and keep hope that God will show me what I am suppose to do with my talents...I pray He will give me courage and everyone else out there that has also been afraid to take that extra step of faith to make the big difference in this world that you were blessed to do. Thank you Dave for taking that step and trusting in God so that we will not lose faith that God can do awesome things through those who keep the faith and take that extra step.

This song brings tears to my eyes. 10 months ago today I entered into a relationship with a wonderful man, and I am so blessed to have him! I waited nearly 21 years before starting a relationship, and God brought me someone even more wonderful than anything I'd ever wanted, and better for me in many ways than all the guys I'd ever been interested in. :)

I love this song. Espcially since my fiance used it to propose! It is also special that he used his WIFE at the end and not some but someone who is beautiful to him (an she was!). Similar to Kirk Cameron using his wife in last scence of the FIREPROOF movie.
Great song Dave thanks for God honoring music about real love.

The beach where this is filmed is where I proposed to my fiance (I am almost certain it is Broad Beach in Malibu Ca) and we already decided that we were going to have this song sang (covered) as people exited... I think that's when! I think this is really cool and now this song will have an even bigger place in my heart! Just going out on a limb, Dave if you are near Houston on Oct. 8 you would be an honored guest at our wedding and we would love you to sing God gave me you!
Will
