Joe Jackson 'Won't See' MJ Cirque du Soleil Show
Exclusive: For decades, Michael Jackson's life resembled something of a circus. Now, his music will be the thrust of a new high-wire live experience being developed by Cirque du Soleil. The irony, we learned, is not lost on the singer's father.
"That's something else, isn't it?" Joe Jackson told
PopEater when asked how he felt about his son inspiring a real-life circus. He added, "I won't see it."
The deal, announced Tuesday, will bring a Jackson-themed nightclub and Cirque du Soleil show to Las Vegas in 2012. But first, a Jackson-Cirque touring show will hit the road in late 2011.
The Jackson estate will own half of the project, with the Montreal-based performance company as their partner.
The 'Bad' singer's mother, Katherine, sounded a bit more enthusiastic about the deal. In a statement, she said, "Our family is thrilled that Cirque du Soleil will pay tribute to my son in such an important way."
This is the third major deal by the Jackson estate since his death last June, representatives said on Tuesday.
► Sony Music announced in March a $250 million deal to release 10 albums using unreleased music.
► Last fall, Sony Pictures released the $261 million-grossing film 'This Is It,' using footage of Jackson during rehearsals for his comeback tour.
Cirque du Soleil knows a thing or two about turning well-known music into successful live spectacles. They currently have shows based on Elvis Presley and the Beatles.

If Joe thought he could make a buck off this he'd be the first one in line!

maybe he could spend that buck on a down-payment on a new hat.
I fail to see why anyone would care whether or not he would see this show. He was a bad presence in Michael's life, and destined to be forgotten in Michael's death. If his own son didn't want him around when he was alive, its not worth acknowledging him now that he's dead.
Buck hell. Throw in a baked ham and he's there.
Joe is just cheap black trash who sucks the life out of whomever he can.
Intresting, it sounds good to me i wonder why joe isn't excited for it.

He found out that he had to pay for the tickets and backed out.

It's obvious why Joe says he won't see this. He thinks it's a circus with elephants and such. He's never heard of Cirque du Soleil.

I agree with BellaDonna. Joe won't go see it, but his lawyer will be in touch with Cirque du Soleil about 'his share' any second now.

They must not have offered him any money for "his share". After all Michael Jackson was his property.

He is a SLIMEBAG!!!!

I put Joe Jackson right up (or down) there with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton...leeches, low lifes and hate mongers. Joe Jackson probably isnt in the spotlight setting up this deal that's why he isnt going. He probably gets no kickback. He's been pissy since Katherine got control of the kids.

Good!
That way people can watch the show instead of him and wondering why he's here.

bet joe has the pennies off his son's eyes in his pocket to this day.

No dough for Joe so he don't go

Its all about making a profit off a murdered man who is worth more dead than alive.

Who cares what Joe Jackson thinks?..if he had of thought of it first he would support it... but since he has been left out of MJ's will, Joe could care less about MJ's legacy...He is a selfish, greedy man who should crawl into a hole and be quiet.
