Scott Baio Incites (More) Drama on Twitter

With great power comes great responsibility, but former child star Scott Baio has been using the far-reaching social networking tool Twitter with reckless abandon -- again. Baio found himself in hot water last January for insulting First Lady Michelle Obama online, prompting angry threats from his followers and numerous accusations of racism and misogyny. Now, the 'Happy Days' actor and his wife Renee are locking horns with feminist Web site Jezebel.com by way of multiple Twitter posts. Baio has stepped up to defend his wife, who called the staff of Jezebel "a bunch of far-left lesbian [expletives]."

"We all have the right to exercise our freedom of speech, including my wife," he writes.

The trouble started with Baio's tax day update last week, the Huffington Post reports. The conservative actor wrote, "Taxes are DONE...That should feed, house & provide medical for a few lazy non working people at my expense. Have a great Monday!"

Left-leaning site Jezebel re-posted Baio's tweet without editorial comment, prompting a slew of angry words from wife Renee that many have deemed homophobic. "[Expletive] you, Jezebel.com web rag. No wonder you're all lesbos because what man in his right mind could put up with all your [expletive]?" Renee wrote on her Facebook page. "Scott Baio has more class in his [expletive] than in all of you all!!!"

Perhaps recalling the backlash her husband experienced in January, Renee quickly added, "TRUE FACT: I have lesbian friends that couldn't be nicer. They are true loyal friends. Those Jezebel lesbians are [expletives]!!!!!"

The strategy is similar to her husband's: The actor, a staunch Republican, tweeted an unflattering photo of Michelle Obama and asked, "WOW He wakes up to this every morning." Before long, he was receiving disturbing messages, including one from a user named @Timafi, who wrote: "easy to find your house Scottie boy and finish YOU. I am a republican and I love Mrs O."

Onlookers quickly piled on with charges that the 'Happy Days' actor was being a woman-hating racist. In defense mode, Baio tweeted a photo of himself with his wife's best friend, who is black.

"Do I look like I'm racist? This is Renee's BEST frd. STOP USING THE RACE CARD!!!" he type-yelled at the time.

Perhaps Baio hopes to shield Renee from a similar public response. On his own Twitter page, he writes, "P.S. Renee only accept frd requests on FB from actual ppl she knows. If U can't read my twts you are blocked dumbass!"

Egad, time has not been kind to this guy. I don't know who aged worse Scott or Paul McCartney. They should dig up John Lennon and see if he aged any better.

"lazy non working people"?? Question, when was the last time Scott Baio really worked?? Reality TV is not work, "Scott Baio is 40 and single" and "Scott Baio is having a baby" isn't work it's a pathetic excuses for a paycheck. I use to like Scott now I wouldn't cross the street for him.

Scott Baio has worked CONSISTANTLY since the 80s. He last two reality shows are just the first time he has been IN FRONT on the camera in a long time. Maybe you should do some research. Scott has a loooonnnnggg list of credits for producing and directing. He is also quite the business person, he could retire today and live off the interest of his investments. Considering the amount he earns, he is probally paying more in taxes in three months time than you do in a year.

I expect that the biggest problem is that Scott Baio has yet to prove that he has any talent as an actor. While actors have a right to their political opinions and a right to express them we should always remember that their opinions are worth exactly as much as any of the other 200 plus million opinions in the country and not a whit more.
