The late Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, will have a cameo appearance in the upcoming blockbuster 'Iron Man 2,' director Jon Favreau confirmed in a new interview with the LA Times.
According to the report, Goldstein makes an appearance at Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) lavish birthday party, during which Stark requests a "phat beat" from Goldstein's turn-tables.
"His energy was amazing, he was such a inspiring guy and there was a lot of depth to him and this positive energy. He ended up staying on with us for about a week and it was just great; we set up this turntable and between takes he would give me pointers," Favreau said of Goldstein's time on set.
Still, despite the positive on-set experience, Favreau said he had a difficult time deciding whether to include the cameo after Goldstein died of an accidental drug overdose last August. To help make his decision, he sought advice from people close to Goldstein, all of whom agreed it should stay in the film.
"We tried to make it respectful, and for people who know him, they'll get a kick out of it and for people who don't, it will sort of slide by without much notice," Favreau said.
Favreau added that the film is dedicated to Goldstein, with a special message that appears in the end credits.
