'7th Heaven' Star Admits 'I Didn't Care if I Died'

Jeremy London is finally opening up about his on-going battle with prescription pills, which led to the demise of his marriage. London, who gained fame playing Griffin Holbrook on 'Party of Five' and Chandler Hampton on '7th Heaven,' admits his addiction spiraled out of control after the birth of his son.
"There were times I didn't care if I died," he told
PEOPLE. "I felt like I was losing everything."
London wed actress Melissa Cunningham in September 2006 and welcomed their son Lyrik, now 3, soon after. But his drug abuse only got worse. Although London entered rehab in September 2009, he and his wife are now going through a divorce.
For now, London can only see his son during a twice-weekly visitation. "I'm learning it's much easier to deal with life with a clear head," he said. "There are so many things I wish I could have done differently."
London gave into his addictions during his rise to fame. "I was treated like royalty," says London, 37. "It was hard for my brain to accept."
The actor and his identical twin brother Jason moved to Los Angeles in 1993. At the time, he was still reeling from the death of his younger sister Dedre, who was killed in a car accident in 1992.
He was arrested in the spring of 2004 for allegedly driving with a suspended license and for carrying controlled substances.
According to
IMDB, London is currently filming 'Q for Death' and has completed eight other projects.

I freakin' called it.
Before the artical pulled up I joked about who it was. Guess what...I called it.
It WOULD just be the father who played the reverend.

Hell, I was thinking it was the cute guy who played the older son. You know, that fine one with the dark hair?
Nice job. Except he wasn't the father who played the reverend.

Thank you!!! LOL
Clearly, David, you never saw one single episode of 7th Heaven, since the man who was the father of the family is about 20+ years older than this guy. He's also blond. Jeremy London was the OTHER reverend on the show, but why would that even be relevant anyway? The guy is trying to be honest about his addiction, it's all part of the 12 steps to recovery because if you keep lying to yourself and those around you, you will never recover, it will just continue on until eventually you "get it" or "get dead". There is a problem that happens to all of us when we get too much too soon and don't feel like we really deserve it - that is when we start to try to sabotage our own success - been there, done that, hope Jeremy can pull it together!

Love really hurts, especially when your in the spotlight of the press.
God Bless them and help them to straighten out their lives.

OMGoodness, none of you are correct. He was at one time Lucy's boyfriend. Lord knows she had plenty until she finally got married. This man was a student of the reverend.

actually, Abraxus is correct. He was not one of Lucy's boyfriends and was not a student of the reverend. He was the reverend that filled in for reverend Eric Camden after he had heart surgery.
Stupid druggies. I have no sympathy for druggies. I never used drugs and found that staying alive is hard enough without riding some sort of weird drug ride. I have never heard a doctor say that heroin or meth was good for you. As for peir pressure that is a bunch of bull crap. If you can let someone call you names and you surrender to that you iz nothing but a wimp azz - just a stupid sheep in the herd. I have no time for druggies and no time for Islam religion either. Both are dangerous to the health.

So are ignorance and narrow-mindedness. And just for the record "London played young minister Chandler Hampton from 2002-2004 on the long-running WB show"
First off Leon, No one is asking you to feel sorry for them, they are simply putting their story out there to help others. Secondly, why is Muslin dangerous to your health??? You need to look in the mirror & worry about yourself instead of insulting others.
Jeremy I am proud of your candidness, I just hope you mean what you say:)
HE Was actually the guy that was the single father that MARY Dated

Clearly an washed up actor who is trying to get back on the screen. Your peak of using was when you had your son? I bet he's going to love to hear that one when hes older. Being treated like royalty was too much for you? Users excuse are usually the opposite, grow up guy...

No,no! He was the guy who dated Neve Campbell and then they got married. I think the reverend lived next door. Mary dated Jessie (Chad Lowe) after he broke up with Becca and Jeremy played his brother.

Uhhh, Excuse me DAVE, but you have it all wrong. You might want to rent the DVD's and watch them over and over and over. Maybe then you will see that he is not the father. He was the fathers other rev. Man, people are so thick! Duhhhhh, I know everything about everything.....Duhhh I'm so sure of myself I will prove it by jokeing about it before I even read it,...Watch this...Duhhhhh

Whoops, my bad. He looked like him. I saw quite a fair number of episodes, but never got attached to the characters enough to remember their names.

Jeremy played Griff in party of five, julia;s boyfriend then husband and the Young Minister Chandler Hampton..in 7th Heaven and now that is totally correct..
..Jeremy is trying unlike many others, to get his act together, not only for his son, but for himself
I admire anyone who wants to clean up there act..Ive never done drugs myself nor will i, so its a little hard to understand..
Leon you're an idiot..its not easy for some people, but at least he is willing to try...He who is without sin, cast the first stone..as they say.. and you Leon will not be the one.....

If Jeremy had depression and that's why he was popping pills, that's bad. They never say what kinds of pills these people are taking. Usually women get post baby depression, but an article says men can get it too.
