Robert Downey Jr. Swears He Couldn't Get Gwyneth Paltrow Off Him

Robert Downey Jr. lights up the screen as Iron Man 2, but clearly no one was as smitten as Gwyneth Paltrow during their much-anticipated kissing scene. Really! Just ask him.

"I couldn't get her off me," Downey Jr. said at Friday's press conference for the film. "It was embarrassing."

Paltrow laughed off the comment and pointed out that both her husband, musician Chris Martin and Downey's wife Susan "were right there" on set.

Downey Jr. said Paltrow did make him self-conscious during the smooch scene. "She said to me I didn't know what I was doing. Like it didn't feel good."

"What would have been creepy was if I was coming off all sexy to you -- I've done that before in movies and it creeps them out."

Downey Jr. laughed that he still knows what she thinks about the kiss secretly.

"Despite what she said on set, she still thinks about it," he said.

Shouldn't actors be more cool about acting a kissing scene? This sounds like high school. Love both of them and am a big "Iron Man" fan but these are two very talented veteran actors so, I doubt the "kiss" was a big deal to either of them. Why their spouses attended the filming of a kissing scene..is weird.

Robert's wife is one of the film's producers, so she HAD to be there; as for Chris Martin, I'd guess he'd want to see the kiss as it happened -after all, it IS a big deal that these two are sharing a kiss in the movie! As to why it was discussed at all, I'm sure it was the reporters that brought the matter up in the first place.

Seriously, I would pay to see movies with real bachelor and bachelorette movie stars playing the hot scenes. Something about being in the theater and seeing people married to other people getting it on just doesn't make sense. Somehow makes me want to cry. Sorry Robert and Gweneth!
