Bret Michaels Told Fans 'I'm Not 100%' Before Suffering Brain Hemorrhage

Poison rocker Bret Michaels remains in critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage; according to PEOPLE, the musician warned fans he was not feeling "100 percent" a day before he he was rushed to the hospital with what he thought was an excruciating headache.

"I'm feeling right about in the middle right now on a scale of 1 to 10," Michaels, who had an emergency appendectomy on April 12, wrote on his blog.

Michaels, who also manages diabetes, continued, "I'm not 100% yet ... I have to get my blood sugar back in order, because it's been all over the place because every day I've been real active and you're not supposed to move around yet."

"This was a wake-up call to be a little bit more diligent on keeping control of my health," he said of the appendectomy. "I want to still have a great time, but ... I need to find something healthier to do on my day off then going out and finding a club to go hang out at. It's part of finding balance in my life."

Michaels, 47, is currently on the cast of 'Celebrity Apprentice.' Donald Trump issued a statement that he was "deeply saddened" to hear of Michaels' health problems.

"He's a great competitor and champion," said Trump, "and I hope he will be fine."

Bret's publicist tells PopEater that there are "several incorrect reports" regarding Bret's status, and that he "remains in critical condition at an undisclosed location."

Michaels' father, Wallace Sychak, gave an update to the NY Daily News, saying, "We were told he's stabilized and doing as well as can be expected."

"I'm certainly worried, it's not a minor thing," he said. "I hope he's hanging in there."

Sychak added that, according to friends close to Michaels, his son is "in Arizona in a hospital with really good neurosurgeons."

Michaels, suffered a "massive subarachnoid hemorrhage" late Thursday evening, and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was quickly put in intensive care.

"After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation," a source told PEOPLE.

Michaels' New York-based publicist, Joann Mignano, later confirmed the report.

Bret chatted about his time on 'Celebrity Apprentice,' and told PopEater that he was "thinking they're all looking at me and thinking I'm the weakest link. They're like 'This guy can drink, be on stage with pyro and suck face. I don't think he's going to bring much to our business group.'"

That worked to Bret's advantage, as he won the first challenge and scored $100,000 for his charity, the American Diabetes Association. Bret is a long-time juvenile diabetic, and he says that helps him get motivated to win.

"I really have a strong cause and I'm in there fighting for it," Michaels told PopEater.

Of his new single 'Nothing to Lose,' Michaels says that Miley Cyrus "was in there with Liam and she's like 'That's a beautiful song.' She said 'Do you mind if I go in and sing some low harmonies and stuff on there?'

"I want to straighten out a certain myth that was blogged. There is no weirdness, there is no strangeness. We were in the studio with about 20 people. It is not a duet," Michaels says about the song, which contains a suggestive lyric here and there.

Hi Diana. You are right about Bret. He is a wonderful person. His heart is true and pure. He does care a lot about others. His heart is made of gold. I know all of this from talking with the man in person. I just wish that someone was reading the stuff that I am writing to him. He really needs to hear all of the positive words he can from his family, friends and fans. I hate that the people that are working for him are not letting him know much of what everyone is saying. I know that once he gets well and finds out someone will be in trouble for it. Bret is one of the most loving, caring, helpful men I know. He is also very determined and out going. However, he is way to giving for his own good and I dislike that because now he is in trouble and it is not good. I just hope he gets better and learns to take it a little easier than he has been.

Ok in his own words he knowingly has Diabetes and goes to hang out at clubs on his day off. Now I grew up in his hey day when bands like Poison were the in music and remember reading how much these guys would drink and possibly do more than that.I remember reading how even back then in the late 80's his drinking was beyond control and he would have black outs due to his blood sugar issue's. Now I am not a hater that says negative things about others when they are down but he like the rest of us is human and has real problems.Hopefully he does heal and can stay mindful of his health.It's always amusing just how angry and defensive people get on these blogs.What a waste of energy.Get well Brett stay focused and remember a dirt nap is only one bad decision away.

Rickie that is not a wig. Why would you say something so stupid? Have you ever met the man? I have and that is not a wig! He is like the rest of us in a lot of ways. He just chose a job that makes him real happy and others happy to. He was lucky to be born with the natural talent that he has. Bret is a man with a heart of gold.
