Forget About Britney, We Want a New Kids on the Block Episode of 'Glee'

The freshmen hit 'Glee' just aired its Madonna episode to high praise. With the popularity of the show's songs on iTunes, it's no wonder other artists would want a piece of the musical pie.

For example, one Britney Spears. Her manager, Adam Leber, tweeted about wanting an all-Britney episode, hoping to make it a trending topic on the social media site. Then 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy told EW.com that he was considering it.

While we love Britney's music, there are others who could use a little 'Glee' muscle -- like New Kids on the Block.

We think the original boy bands' hits would be perfect for the series. (And so does member Joey McIntyre, who told PopEater, "I think our music would be a great fit for 'Glee' -- and selfishly speaking, I think I would be too. So I say to the NK Nation, 'Let's get this!!'")

If we were writers on 'Glee,' this is how it would play out.

The episode opens with Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) crooning 'Cover Girl' to Rachel (Lea Michele) -- in front of an insanely jealous Finn (Cory Montieth).

Low and behold, Finn busts out his own version of 'Step by Step,' vowing to win over the determined brunette's heart.

Meanwhile, glee club director Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) is still dealing with his arch-enemy, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). But he's 'Hangin' Tough' despite her determination to destroy New Directions. (Just get on the floor and do the Schuester dance.)

Lest we forget, regionals is 'Tonight,' and the glee club is ready to kick some Vocal Adrenaline butt.

But, their opponents begin the competition with some 'Good Vibrations' of their own. Our favorite 'Glee'-ers worry -- if Adrenaline is focusing on the more successful Wahlberg, how will Donnie hold up?

But it's Schue to the rescue when Will reminds his team that they've got the 'Right Stuff.'

i think this is a GREAT idea...but i would love to see a backstreet boys episode of glee!! Those boys were IT back in the day..and there still around, and the music is perfect for this show! BSB on GLEE!!!

A Britney episode would be amazing. lol I think it'd be cool, I haven't really had a chance to watch Glee yet, but I probably will soon! If a Britney one happens, I'll definitely record it. =) New Kids on the Block would be really cool too.

No freakin' way! Ughhh! No New Kids and no Britney eps PLEASE!!! Can't stand either and never liked them when they first came out. My friends in elementary school were all gaga over New Kids, but I couldn't stand them!

How about an all Beatles ep? They've done a few songs already from their catalog and did great with them! Or a MoTown ep? Totally 80's ep (including Madonna, they've also done Billy Idol, so how about some Tears for Fears, Cheap Trick and Duran Duran!)? Or maybe some Big Band music for a retro themed ep? I think the Glee kids would look great in some period costumes on stage doing the numbers! They included a gospel choir for the Madonna ep, so how about the school band for that one? That would be a fun one to get the Glee kids and the Band geeks together! They could go all "Mama Mia!" and do an ABBA ep. There's some good Queen songs that could work in an ep. Tom Petty has a good catalog too.

ok so maybe not an entire episode of NKOTB. But how about an episode for all boy bands. N'SYNC, Backstreet, 98 Degrees, and NKOTB.

I couldn't be happier with this play list. I get goosebumps thinking about it. Knowing Glee, instead of an all NKOTB, they would do either all boy band groups or boys vs. girls again using popular then and now boy/girl groups.

I LOVED NKOTB!!! They would be awesome on Glee. And yes, if you can work a few members into guest spots that wouldn't hurt either. McIntyre and Wahlberg both have acting creds now.

or possibly guest starring Mary J. Blige, or perhaps with
a cemeo role towards the end of the episode of Mary,
herself! Who hasn't been inspired by Mary J. Blige?
