Randy Quaid and Wife Evi Jailed in California

After failing to pay a $10,000 hotel bill and becoming
fugitives just over a week ago, Randy Quaid and his wife Evi were jailed in California today.
"The Quaids arrived at court Monday morning with their attorney Robert Sanger and a bail bondsman. They went before judge Frank Ochoa and their attorney attempted to reinstate their old bail,"
RadarOnline reports.
Santa Barbara District Attorney Arnie Tolks told RadarOnline: "The court was angry. Judge Ochoa told the Quaids that he felt they'd been disrespectful and brought up the last time they came to court flashing their Golden Globe award. The Quaids apologized and told him that they didn't mean to be disrespectful."
The Quaids were put in custody with $100,000 bail. They will return to court Wednesday for their preliminary hearing, Tolks told RadarOnline.
The Quaids pleaded not guilty in December and were released on $40,000 bail. Santa Barbara Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter told
PEOPLE that bail was forfeited, and when the Quaids failed to appear in court two weeks ago, a warrant was issued for their arrest.
Arrest warrants have been repeatedly sought and later quashed for the Quaids, who were charged last year with defrauding an innkeeper.
In November, Sanger said the establishment had been repaid and he hoped to resolve the case. The couple were later taken into custody in Texas. At the time, the Quaids had forfeited a total of $40,000 in bail when they failed to appear for a hearing, but the judge allowed that money to stand as bail and freed the two defendants.

Unlucky reality star Megan Hauserman was arrested April 16 in Miami Beach for suspicion of driving under the influence. Officers say she smelled of alcohol and her speech was slurred as she told them she was "filming a TV show and was tired." Hauserman was in 'Rock of Love' and had her own show, 'Megan Wants a Millionaire,' which was canceled after one of the contestants allegedly killed his estranged wife.

Why in the world are these people in jail? What is going on with the CA police types? This is how they spend taxpayers money on arch criminals like the Quaids?

Well,I would not jump to any conclusions right now as the
case has to be ironed out somehow in court. I am sure this
same of kind scenario can happen to anyone out there.
how funny. Go get'em Randy.

Defrauding an Innkeeper is a gateway offense, unless it is dealt with immediately, and severely ,it could result in them defrauding the the IRS. Oh, wait,, thats the present Administration's Cabinet... Never mind,,,,,,

Never mind indeed!
Who wrote this article? Was it a 2nd grader. The way it is put together, it looks like it is paid off. The bond covers them and then it does not. The Inn keeper has been paid but they still are going back to court with warrants that were quashed but served. The media really sucks and seems to be falling deeper into the cesspool.

This doesn't make any sense. Wouldn't they have had to present a valid credit card to the innkeeper?

My prayers go out to Bret and his daughters, he's not just a rockstar he's a daddy. I hope he makes a full recovery, so he can continue both.

We shouldnt judge until we know all the facts. Celebrities, no matter how much you like them, need to pay their bills too. If they did indeed skip out on a huge hotel bill, they broke the law. If you read it all, they also failed to show up for court a few weeks ago. Just because he is famous, doesnt mean he is above the law. If you did the same thing, you would get twenty years in prison. lol

The article is not very well written, but from the local press on this subject, I know the Quaids have missed SEVERAL court dates. I can't speak to whether the underlying dispute is valid or not, but it is never a good idea to just not show up when you are supposed to appear before a judge.

Does Randy (cousin Eddie) still have that dog named Snot?

The article was clear enough about the bail they have twice posted. When they were arrested in Marfa because of one of those outstanding California warrants, they were treated far too gently IMO. If you have any dealings with this couple, get your money in advance.
