'City' Star Roxy Olin on Her Love Life, Mick Jagger and Season 2

While MTV's 'The City' captures Whitney Port and Roxy Olin's friendship as they struggle to captivate and conquer the New York fashion industry, Roxy's expertise falls outside the realm of reality television. Adding a role on ABC's 'Brothers & Sisters' to her acting credentials, Roxy surprised and impressed many of her 'City' fans. But even as an up-and-coming actress, Roxy's head-turning style has her right at home on 'The City.' With season two premiering tonight at 10:30/9:30c, Roxy stopped by
PopEater to talk about her style icons, Whitney's new clothing line and what to expect in the new season.
What was your role in helping Whitney with her clothing line, Whitney Eve?
Her first collection was a lot more Whitney L.A.. I think I really encouraged her to try something new and to really go with her new, New York, more edgy, thing. I kind of also went with the fact that I have my style, so the more she would design, I'd be like 'yeah, go toward the dark colors! Make it more rock 'n' roll!' I was just there to support her and watch her journey.
Who inspires your style?
I love the way that Mick Jagger dresses. My dad put me in a leather jacket when I was three years old, so I always try to go for that 'edgier' thing but I love the classic style. Gwyneth Paltrow, I think dresses so beautiful. I love her style so much! I would like to dress like that, but it's not really me.
Season two is going to be different than season one for many reasons, one being that we get to see some of your love life pan out! What was that like?
It was new for me. I think you get to see the beginning of my relationship with my boyfriend now. It's the beginning steps of it so it was a little scary -- as it is when you're beginning a relationship -- then with the cameras on it's just that much more nerve wracking. Before [my boyfriend's] on it, you get to see me with this other guy and that kind of on-screen experiment is interesting. I'm kind of nervous about how all that is going to come out because I don't really know what that's going to look like and if I'm going to be like 'Oh my God! I was such a loser!'
Speaking of love on-screen, who's your celebrity crush?
Travis Barker, I am CRAZY for Travis Barker. I've loved Travis Barker since I was really young, when he named his daughter Alabama. 'True Romance' is my favorite movie ever, like my bible. I was like 'We're meant to be together! Please notice this.'
What's it like having your acting career and role on 'Brothers & Sisters' not portrayed on 'The City?'
I feel like I have a whole other life that's not followed by 'The City,' as in my social life. 'The City' shows one part of my life. I still have my own private world. It's through Whitney's eyes, the show really is Whitney's life and my influence on it. My love life that influences Whitney, you get to see. But you don't really get to see my family, I think maybe my dad might make an appearance this season. It really is Whitney's life. My life with 'Brothers & Sisters' doesn't really affect her life here, I think that's really the reason it's not shown.

I agree..I'm 22..is this crap with the word "like" in almost every sentence the new "ya know" from few yrs ago? seriously this girl can't act and should be greatful she got a chance on the city..her 15 minutes will be up soon enough..quite sure Whitney doesn't need her input on her clothing line either
