'Dancing With the Stars' Worries About Ratings After Kate Gosselin

Her high kicks left much to be desired, but TV mom Kate Gosselin brought another asset to this season of 'Dancing With the Stars' -- a reliable ratings boost. Sources tell me ABC execs are worried sick that viewers might change the channel since the ballroom's most controversial dancer has gone back to her brood. Details on Kate's network appeal, plus Betty White's secret for making friends at 'SNL' -- after the jump.

Dancing Without the Star

Kate Gosselin failed to impress the judges -- or the audience -- during her time on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but ABC knows Kate's clumsy moves were a sure ratings draw.

"No doubt people were turning in each week to see what Kate would do next," an insider tells me. "If she wasn't fighting with her dance partner, Tony, she was fighting with the judges. Kate might be someone that we love to hate, but she is great TV."

Nervous executives will be watching the numbers carefully this week to see if the show remains red hot without Kate. If it doesn't, may I suggest a recount?

Betty White Sweetens the Deal at 'SNL'

Just when you thought Betty White couldn't get any more adorable, sources tell me the host of next week's 'Saturday Night Live' showed up today at 30 Rock... with a cheesecake for the cast and crew.

"Betty is from the old school. The one thing she learned from 'The Golden Girls' is that everything is better with cheesecake," a friend tells me. "She already has the cast eating out of her hand. They think she is one of the funniest, most talented people they have ever met -- and they love that Betty has told them nothing is off limits for her."

We're already excited for Betty's special May 8 Mother's Day episode. Betty, you're an 88-year-old firecracker worthy of cutting short date night.

First of all, Kate was the worst dancer ever.
It was painfull to watch her
Second of all If you asked Kate what time it was , she would build you a clock. Always a long story, never cut it short.Boring as can be. Very full of herself. Loved to hear herself talk. Having said that, It is really a very boring year. Just like
American Idol, it's had its day, time to reel it in.

We always watch DWTS and will continue to do so. It was a huge relief when KG was dumped. She is so irritating to watch and to listen to. One other thing we noticed was that no matter what they put on her or did with her hair she always managed to look frumpy. This is television for heavens sake, couldn't they do ANYTHING with her???

I think that Kate's hair style is frumpy. I liked it short much better than the tangled look. I'll watch Kate as long as Jon is not involved. Can't stand him and his immature behavior.

She was theOnly reason I watched the show! At least she was better entertainment they those Judges on the show. It's time to have some guest judges each week then those bafoons they have on now.

Not the best year for DWTS. I work in a childrens hospital and sometimes the parents of the sick children watch this show. It gets their minds off their troubles. It is just simple entainterment.

When it came time for Kate to dance, I would leave the room. I watched her first couple of tries and she was a disaster. No talent, no rhythm and certainly no personality. Goodbye, adios, sayonara. She needs to work on her people skills and not worry about dancing. Both Kate and Jon need help before it affects the children who are probably raising themselves and are most likely acting more mature than their parents.

ABC should not worry about ratings over her leaving. If she had that many fans watching, she would not have been voted(lack of voters) off!!! How rediculous. It's amazing she lasted as long as she did!! Now is we can only get rid of the flat footed, stiff, gift to the world, Chad.
Those of you not watching because she got voted off........good riddance to you.

I am in awe of how the public can keep a meal down after this media produced, talentless, ugly cow showd up on tv...Both her and her husband are pathetic...And now pushing her on a dance show when she cannot even walk is mindboggling...Why can't she just vanish and go take care of her litter...Another show with her...GIVE US A BREAK...This cow belongs on a farm in a barn..

I personally couldn't stand watching Kate. I haven't been watching the show other than to see the last 10 minutes of the results to see if she would be kicked off. Now that she's gone, I will be watching regularly like I do every season.

Loved Kate on the show and tuned in just for her and a few other novice dancers. I don't care to watch professional pop stars like the one they have who keeps getting 10's over a stay at home Mom who was really learning to dance! This show has lost it's premise, they now throw in ringers who end up winning like Donny Osmond and such. These stars are professional's let's not mince words, a pop star who is a professional hip hop dancer is of course going to win over a stay at home mom or a man who went to the moon so ABC I ask you what is the fun watching professionals win? None for me, I'm tuning out!

I sure did miss Kate last night, I would of loved to see her do that group dance! She was a hoot to watch. This is my first season watching DWTS....I won't stop watching because Kate is gone. I like watching the professionals, they are soooo good! Pam acts too ho'ish for me and Jake...I just can't stand looking at him and his short stubby legs, he's gross. Nicole is my favorite, then Evan. I did give Niecy some votes, I'd rather see Jake get gone!

Kate and her whining and crying got old fast! She talks about how important her children are, yet she continues to be in the public eye inorder to make money. She is a nurse and could go back to nursing...a very in demand job....but she is a publicity hound.
Kate should have been voted off the first week. She really can't dance. I will watch the show more now that she is gone.
