Jesse James Reacts to Divorce, Bullock's Adoption

Sandra Bullock dropped a bombshell when she revealed to PEOPLE that in January she adopted a boy from New Orleans and is divorcing husband Jesse James. Now, Jesse James is finally opening up about the news, telling PEOPLE he has a "huge hole" in his heart.

"My whole life has been full of hard decisions. The decision to let my wife end our marriage, and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest. The love I have for Louis cannot be put to words. Not having him around to love and to hold has left a huge hole in my heart," James said.

She and James began the adoption process four years ago, before becoming parents earlier this year. The couple decided to keep the news to themselves until after the Oscars.

Bullock was on top of the world when she won her first Oscar for her role in 'The Blind Side.' But just eight days after her victory, Michelle "Bombshell" McGee revealed she had been having an affair with James. Eventually, several more women stepped forward. Rumors suggested that at least seven women were involved with Jesse during his marriage

"I ask that you please do not judge Sandy for the things I have done. She has done no wrong. She played no part in any of this. She has been an amazing wife, mother and best friend for the over 6 years we have been together," he said.

According to HollywoodLife.com, James relinquished his rights as a parent to Louis in the divorce papers, allowing Sandra full custody in what experts call an unusual move.

Bullock says she is now adopting as a single parent and is divorcing her husband. "Yes, I have filed for divorce," she told the magazine, adding that she is "sad and scared" about it. This is only the second time Bullock has spoken out in the aftermath of her husband's sex scandal, which broke in mid-March.

The West Coast Choppers mogul publicly apologized to Bullock and his three kids and recently returned home after a 30-day stay in a treatment facility, where he sought help for "personal issues."

"I know in my heart that I can be the best father possible to my four children, and the mate Sandy deserves, and realize that this is an incredible mountain to climb. But I believe that the steps I have taken in the last 30 days are the foundation for making this happen. The lifelong commitment I am making is what being a real husband and father is all about," James added.

I agree. From all reports it sounds like these two have chosen to be civil and co-parent the baby ,as well as Jesse's other 3 kids. Let it go and let them get on with their lives.

Sandra, keep walking away from this loser. Jesse James put too emphasis on FUN in his dysfunctional life. Since I'm a car guy he knows, he has NEVER been able to be faithful in the past, so what makes you think he'll ever change? Keep digging in his past, you'll be shocked about his escapades when he was married to Karla & Janine! ex-friend

Sandra I admire you as a strong confident women with a great challenge that you will endure, because of who you are and the pride that you hold dear. Love your little baby and raise him to have the respect for women that so many men in this world just seem to refuse to give us. It's called respect and undying love for the person you chose to marry; don't these cheaters ever listen to the vows they are making? I thought my first and last ex did...."NOT." I can thank God that I didn't get some horrible disease from his stupidity so many years ago; I pray that Sandra has not received any thing horrible from Jesse or his skanks either. I can't get over some of you cheaters. Get over yourselves, don't get married to wonderful people if you have that in your blood. We do survive broken hearts and hurt feelings; but do they? James is proof of the old saying, 'You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear'. She thought he was a diamond in the rough, but really he was just a lump of coal. I'm very glad to see that a woman so in the public eye did the RIGHT thing...she got the hell away from that piece of trash immediately after finding out he was cheating. She didn't try to defend him, or make any excuses, she held herself together, got her child and left his butt. Too bad other women who stand as role models to our daughters didn't have the fortitude to do the same. CoughHillarycough.

If it's possible, I have to say I am loving Sandra more and more. The way she handled this whole thing, with grace and civility, the way she protected her child, they way she will continue to do whats right for her and her family and most of all, the simple fact that when choosing not to blindly add to the population she looked right in her American backyard for a child that could use a mother. Not that there is anything wrong with going across an ocean to adopt a child but we have so many of our own children that need us. I truly, and whole-heartedly believe she is worthy of the title America's sweetheart. I wish the utmost happiness to her and her family.
