Jim Carrey's Antics Keep Us Guessing

If you've been wondering what's been on
Jim Carrey's mind since his recent split with
Jenny McCarthy, the answer to that is "Boing."
Since April 24, Carrey has been
tweeting the word up to 40 times day, using it to mean, well, just about anything. "I RRRefuse 2 define BOING!," he wrote on Tuesday. "1 day when you've given up your need 2 explain it and file it neatly away, 'BOING'... you will understand! }=^P"
The erratic tweets are a red flag for some fans of the actor, who is said to have battled depression and was the subject of a highly unflattering 2007
Radar magazine cover story about his behavior on the set of 'Number 23.' (Although as a hatchet job, the article falls short: Most of Carrey's co-workers who are quoted seem to have a great deal of respect for him.)
All in all, it's been a bumpy month for the comic genius, who famously took to Twitter on April 6 to
announce his break-up with longtime partner McCarthy. Adding to the confusion is the fate of his next feature film, '
I Love You Phillip Morris,' which was supposed to have been released this Friday.
Earlier this month, it was shelved, seemingly permanently, only to be put back on the slate for July 30. The film, based on the true story of a con-man who turns away from his wife and Christianity to become a gay man with a partner (played by Ewan McGregor), whom he meets in prison, apparently spooked the studio with its controversial subject matter.
Carrey has also stepped out in public recently with cameos on '
American Idol Gives Back' and Conan O'Brien's Los Angeles
live comedy show -- where he sang a duet of Five For Fighting's 'Superman (It's Not Easy)' dressed as the caped Kryptonian.
So what is the current mental state of the Canadian-born comic, and do we need to be worried? As Carrey himself would say: "Boing!"

Sounds like he`s just being Jim.
Poor guy is nuts. Wrap him in a wet sheet before he hurts himself.
Carey has always marched to the beat of a differnt drum, that is what made him so popular to begin with.
if he jumps on twitter to screw around with people whats the big deal.
as far as breaking up with jenny mccarthy who cares.
so many women, so little time

Sorry....Jim Carrey is one of the most irritating whack jobs. If he's on any show, I change the channel....never could stand him. He's weird and so damn irritating to watch...which is why the TV goes off. Sad....he and Jenny M. made a good pair since she's just as irritating and there's not an ounce of talent between the two of them. Personally....who cares about either one of them.

I think he is just trying to keep himself in a positive mood. I look forward to his tweets because I am trying to do the same.

This is ridiculous. He has always acted the same way, it's just that when somebody is a huge bankable star nobody says or writes anything unflattering about them because it would upset their agent and the studios. Now that he hasn't had a hit for a while he is fair game. Add to that the fact that Twitter is something the publicists can't control and there you have it. he's always been weird, it was just never reported before.

All Carey has to do is add an "r"... boRing. Then he'll finally have it right. See? We DO understand!

I read where Jim makes these odd musical recordings, singing like a chicken, struming an out of tune guitar and playing chairs. and he thinks they're great.

and you probably can't even play a single instrument or sing, so who are you to judge?
And you think you are right...
I have been hoping that he'd be okay since the split but I don't think the boing thing is that weird. Other celebs do crap like that all the time on twitter.

I used to like Jim, but after a few years too many of his boring humor, that was enough for me. I truly believe he has real mental problems, and should be treated for same. As far as Jenny and Jim, they seemed to be okay together, but he does have a problem staying more than a handful of years with any woman. If someone wants to be with him, that is their problem. He is NOT my type, and I do not find him attractive. Can's luv everyone!!

May need Lithium (or whatever mood stbilizer) levels checked. Amanic or even hypomanic state can be quite annoying to others.

There is a saying "If you are going through Hell....keep going." Let the guy be....I happen to really enjoy his humour. Why kick someone when they are down? I am sure that some people may have found my behavior odd when I went through a divorce after 25 years. No one reacts the same. I am sure at one time or another someone has thought of all of us as "ODD."
