Olivia Munn on Nude PETA Ad: 'What's the Problem?'

Olivia Munn's nude PETA ad calling for a circus boycott caused quite the stir on the Internet yesterday. To clear up a few things (like, um, why is she naked?), the lovely host of G4's 'Attack of the Show' -- who also appears in 'Date Night' and 'Iron Man 2,' natch -- chatted with PopEater via e-mail, even responding to one reader's query of how people can do more to help the cause.

So what's with the nudity? No question it's a great ad and you look stunning, but while nudity is an obvious choice for PETA's "I'd rather be naked than wear fur" campaign, the connection here is a little more baffling. What was PETA's pitch?
The campaign was never a "nude campaign," and I wasn't naked on set at all. In that one shot, the way I was sitting and the way the tank-top hung on me, it appeared like I was nude. The "natural state" does tie into the campaign because I'm asking everyone to help keep elephants in their natural state and out of the circus. They shouldn't be chained and beaten and electroshocked to dance around on a ball. And I understand the "nude" question that people have -- how does having a billboard with me looking like I posed nude help elephants? It doesn't directly help them, no. But, if this billboard with me on it helps get more eyes on the issue, gets people to stop going to the circus and I didn't get naked or compromise myself at all to do it, then what's the problem? I understand the question, but now that it's answered, I hope we can all spend more time trying to educate people on the abuse of all of the animals in the circus.

One commenter, Rita, wants to know: "How can we help, Olivia? I used to like the circus, but now I just have to make an effort not to cry when I see one in town. But what can we do? Not going to the circus is a step, but what else can we do?"
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey are coming into LA in July and myself, PETA and anyone else who can come are going to protest in front of the Staple Center and let everyone know NOT to go in. We're going to try and look at every person in the eye and ask them not to go in. So, if you want to do something, spread the message and come down with us. But -- it's not about being angry or mean to anyone. It's about making a personal connection with people and hoping to appeal to their hearts.

Hey it's a beautiful woman. It's tastefully done. There are no sexual parts showing. so what's the big deal? The point is, it attracted attention. Just look at all of us posting about it. You could also look at it as maybe not all of Gods creatures are as beautiful as her, but they still don't deserve to be treated cruely. I'm all for it. While we're at it, end bullfighting, originally started by the blood thirsty Arabs, then they brought it to spain.

If you're not showing at least Boobs, you're not naked.
She was wearing clothes. C'mon, if you're gonna show off your bod, show it. Nothing more beautiful than a nice set of boobs. If I can't see them, the first thing I wanna do is jet off to watch some trained animals do tricks.

Wow, you're really shallow if the first thing you think of when seeing this ad is young boys and girls having 'alone time' thinking about her. Also thats kinda perverse.
I've always hated the circus, its such a vile and dirty establishment. That digusting food, those creepy circus freaks, the ragged, sick animals; the whole concept of it is an odious failure at entertainment.

If you donate to aspca or hsus or anyone of the forty or fifty other names they go under you might as well donate to peta. None of them actually spend money to help animals. Please donate to your local SPCA or humane society-they will use the funds to CARE FOR animals.

When are these celebrities going to actually research PETA and the HSUS.... BEFORE they support them?
I really believe that if they did they would be very angry that these organizations were actually taking advantage of their good intentions and were making money off of them. Money that will go into their pockets and not help one animal!

Ehmm am I the only who found her explanation very weak and self centered? Also her response to the readers question was lame. I love animals a whole bunch too, except javalinas (those things are evil, I tell you) but I would never support PETA.

The only thing thats happening here is olivia munn or who ever she is trying to get attension on herself so that she can further her career.Peta pretty much does this stuff all the time to get people to notice them and more often times than not i think its for something else other than helping animals.If u dislike the circus thats fine,personally i dont care for them much either but if i decided to go see one and some proteseter got in my face there could be a problem.Like i said im not a fan of the circus but if i was i dont need olivia munn,peta or any protestor to set me straight.

Stop killing human which is more important than using animals for entertainment, it's the other way round, going to circus to watch animal is better than seeing corps on the TV channels
I guess its a new way of promoting female body under a false topic, so stop using animals rights to hide your bad deeds...
