A-ha are ending their 30-year run.The '80s band, who gave us the memorable video for their greatest hit 'Take on Me,' have decided to call it quits, EOnline.com reports.
Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy will tour one last time together this year, but it will be their last.
Although they only had one hit stateside, the trio -- who released nine studio albums -- were huge outside of America. Watch 'Take on Me'

how is that when Foot of the mountain was released in 2009? Perhaps your facts are not accurate.
They broke up in 1996! Shoo I thought it was 1986! Boy this group sang the song title "Take on me" and really took it to the next level because they got money off of it for the past 30 yrs! Bless them
Oh-no!

Actually, they had a second American hit. "The Sun Always Shines on TV" peaked at #20 in 1985 -- and the 8:25 Extended Version is still a slammin' dance track.

Whether you care or not, you have to admit that was one fantastic video....the fact that it was from the time that music videos were still in their infancy is even more amazing. I have always loved that song, and that video, so I guess you can say that I CARE!!!!!!

You got that right!!! He's still hot. And they're still good, although they've only been huge overseas. I've always considered myself a fan. Oh well...30 years is a good long time, anyway. Sigh.

I'd have to agree with Grand Mariner, and a few others when they post "I didn't know they were still together." Unless you live and breathe the music scene in Europe, you would never know that many of the acts from the 80's are still playing, touring, and releasing albums(CD's), and in many areas are still nearly as popular as they were when 'Take On Me' was initially released. Even Rick Astley is still famous over in England, and he hasn't had a big hit in the U.S. since the late 80's. This country discards singers/performers as soon as the 'sheen' wears off.

Weeble, not only does America do that to UK/Europe singers and bands, they do even much worse to the ones that orginated there.
How you talk? Look at Mickey Jackson? The public is still keeping him alive and I am not sure if they ever did put him underground. Is he still on tour?
the fact that you had their name in the same dialogue as the rolling stone is insane!!this band was popular for a couple years in the eighties.but any idea that they would be relevant in todays conversation is a joke.that is like putting new kids on the block in the same dialogue as the beatles.

Yeah; me too! I was only aware of the one song!
