Plea Deal Nearing for Charlie Sheen in Domestic Violence Case

Charlie Sheen's lawyers are hammering out a plea bargain for the 'Two and a Half Men' star for the charges stemming from the Christmas incident where he allegedly attacked his wife, Brooke Mueller, TMZ.com reports.

Sheen has been charged with felony menacing and misdemeanor assault, but the actor is hoping to cop to a misdemeanor.

His lawyers are also hoping to close the deal before May 19, which is the day CBS will announce their fall schedule. It is looking increasingly likely that Charlie will return to 'Men,' despite reports he wanted out and the difficulties of signing him to a new contract.

According to TMZ, CBS is wary about renewing the series if Charlie's case is still undecided.

I don't hate him.What is really sad is a guy with his reputation should be" off limits" and the last 2 women married him knowing well what an abusive player he is. He's the kind of guy to stear clear of, Great acting skills bad in relationships.

This is typical. A plea agreement for a rich bad boy. He held a knife to his wife's throat while threatening to kill her (I don't care how drunk they were). If this were an "ordinary" guy, he'd be in deep spit and would be worried about who is his roommate in prison. This guy makes bail, leaves the state right away, hires big-time lawyers, there's some drama, both the bad boy and his skank wife go into/out of rehab, and now the rich bad boy is going to get his hand slapped. Once again. You can see how well that has worked in the past. That Charlie Sheen, he's a changed man. Not.

Seems to me that the fact that Charlie is a rich white boy who got a slap on the wrist for acting like a fool when he was drunk is more upsetting than the fact that he beat a woman to near death ! What difference does it matter the status he has, this happens far too often in everyday life to people (women, men and children) of all economic backrounds. Where is the respect for life, and don"t give me that " He was drunk" bull !

I've liked a lot of his work as an actor in the past.
But nothing excuses how he has treated his women.
There is NO excuse for beating your wife or gf or holding a knife to her throat whether drunk, joking or otherwise.
He would go NUTS if somebody did it to him.
He should get time just like the rest of us would for the same behavior.
If they don't give him time he should be forced to make a movie written and directed by women who have been beaten like his wives.

If anyone who is not in 'show buisness' and put a knife to someones throat, there would be some jail time. But since charlie has money, he can basicly do what ever he wants.
I am sick of the double standards for holly wood people, and us normal folks. I would like to se charlie do some jail time for this. I would love to see a man hit him in his mouth. I wonder what charlie would do if a MAN hit him. I dont think charlie would be so brave, as to put a knife to any mans throat. These kinds of men like to scare woman, but their terrified of men.

seems to me that we are going to have another o.j. situation on our hands in a few years. his violence continues and just like nicole brown simpson said you all know his record but no one wants to do anything about it. If he keeps getting slaps on the wrist its just a matter of time before someone gets killed. Its a wakeup call to mr. sheen and his family. Help him before he hurts someone else
