'Family Guy' aired its 150th episode on Sunday, but instead of celebrating, the show is under fire once again by a family oriented watchdog group. The Parents Television Council claims the hit FOX sitcom was intentionally trying to needle the FCC when they released 'Brian and Stewie,' in which one character eats the others (oh no, please don't say it) feces.
Broadcast decency laws apply to anything depicting content in which excretory functions are used in an offensive manner.
"It seems as though 'Family Guy' creator, Seth MacFarlane, carefully reviewed the legal definition of broadcast indecency and set out to violate it as literally as he could," said PTC President Tim Winter on their website.
We don't take pleasure in describing what occurs between Brian and Stewie in the episode, but in a nutshell, the pair are stuck in a bank vault when Stewie makes a deposit in his diaper. He somehow convinces his canine companion to eat the diaper's contents, then shockingly coaxes him to clean his bottom using ... his ... tongue. (Pause to gag.)
There is also vomit and the eating of said vomit.
"Given the patently offensive depictions of one character eating excrement out of a diaper, then eating vomit, and finally licking the remaining excrement from a baby's bottom -- while the baby expresses physical gratification from having his bottom licked -- we believe that the broadcast decency law has been broken," Winter said.
The FCC has so far not filed an official complaint against FOX, but the PTC is calling on all concerned parents to boycott the show's sponsors.
"We will also hold publicly accountable the corporate sponsors which underwrote this feces-eating broadcast, ironically a number of which were restaurants."
FOX and McFarlane have so far declined to comment on the controversy.
This is Effin High_larious. But I think if parents don't like it, Don't watch it. because there is MUCH worse out there. I mean cmon its an adult cartoon. not like their showing it on disney channel or something. Cmon people GROW UP. everything that is wrong in this world and you want to focus on a 30minute cartoon show for adults. I hate people who talk about how bad something like this is. DONT LIKE IT DONT WATCH IT. Its funny, GET OVER IT. And obviously if you wanna sit here and post bad stuff about this or wanna sit in your stupid little parent group and talk all this S**t about it enough to get it put on PopEater then you must have some kind of obbsession with it. Im 15 and my WHOLe family and I love this show. But I know if someone got this show kicked off the air they would have alot of people hating them....P.s....You dont want that.
So alittle tip for all these so called "ADULTS" GROW THE Eff UP
There are two little triangles on the front of the TV. If family guy gets too offensive for sensitive eyes, just push one and it'll all go away. What is so difficult about that!
I am a parent and my kids have never seen Family Guy. I think the show is hilarious. It is my responsibility to make sure my kids do not see TV shows that I don't want them to see. The PTC can bite me.
I love Fmaily Guy, but that was sick. It's not the poo eating or puke eating. It was the fact that a dog licked a babys butt and the baby enjoyed it. I am pretty sure that crosses some obvious boundaries. That borderlines on a sex act. Showing a dog doing that to a baby is f***ed up and everyone knows it.
Geez, I'm a die-hard conservative and I watch two episodes of this show almost every single night - I think it's hilarious! This refrain is getting old, but truer words are seldom spoken: if you don't like it, don't watch it. I do NOT have my kids in the room when I watch. Seems to me the only way a parent group would have anything to worry about from Family Guy is if their members aren't PARENTING. . .
Did anybody catch the ending where they actually admitted their true friendship for one another? I think it was one of the most heart warming episodes yet. Not gonna lie, very touching. I found it hilarious. A lot of people don't have a sense of humor. Maybe you're just a bunch of booty individuals.
JAX Exactly right!!! As usual, the idiot watchdog s**theads bring more publicity and viewers to a show they find questionable, instead of letting it go unnoticed had they just shut the hell up about it! They are far too uptight a group anyway... to ever be able to appreciate the humor of Family Guy!!!
Once again we are focusing on the obvious and sensational. The end result of their time in the Vault. Both characters discover how much they need each other and how much they've been through together. They find that they are by now fast friends and will remain so for life. That the friendship they share gives their lives more meaning they would have than if they didn't have their relationship. I think the message here is how important friendship is. That's what should be thought about instead of all the silly broohaha about ingestion of feces and previously eaten food. That story line was meant to separate the wheat from the chaff. And of course all the "family values" people don't get it. Because, they've never lacked for anything. Somebody was always there to clean their little tushes from cradle to the grave.
I know this scene may have been disturbing for some, but for many others it was funny and even hilarious im sure in some cases. If you don't like the show, simply don't watch it and let those who do enjoy it continue to enjoy it :)
I found this episode to be quite funny. It did push the boundries, but that is what FG has always done. When my daughter was young I took it upon myself to monitor her TV watching. As she matured I let her watch age appropiate TV. She is now a young resposible & caring adult. Able to make her own decisions. Grow up people. Do your job as a parent & the content of a cartoon intended for an adult audience won't get your panties in a wad(as Peter would say).
I haven't watched family guy for along time, and that includes the re runs. It just isn't funny anymore. If any cartoon to watch, I go with south park.
LOL... I THINK THIS IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE EVER!!! HOW CAN ANYONE BE MAD ABOUT THIS? IT'S SOOOO FUNNY. DOGS EAT POOH AND VOMIT, AND LAST TIME I CHECKED BRIAN WAS STILL A DOG. ANYWAYS, I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT. WATCHING FOR THE 3RD TIME RIGHT NOW....
What part of "Family-Guy-Isn't-For-Kids" does the PTC not understand? It's up to the parents to decide if their (older) kids can watch "Family Guy," not some scared-of-their-own-shadows watchdog group without a sense of humor.
Shades of Tipper Gore and the PMRC, if anyone here is old enough to remember the 1980s.
I saw it and the content wasn't so much what bothered me, I am accustomed to being shocked. It was the fact that it just wasn't very funny. This wasn't like the Mr. Hankey Christmas show!!
Lolz Me And My Mom Saw This 2 Nights Ago When I Was Doing Her Hair At My House Ha haha! It Is Disgusting But Like I Always Say... They Made Remote's For A Reason!
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos
