Get Out! Julia Louis-Dreyfus' H'Wood Star Has Typo

Julia Louis-Dreyfus got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday. Unfortunately for the 'Seinfeld' actress, the foot-trodden plaque was riddled with typos. Instead of "Louis" the star initially read "Luis," and to top it off, the hyphen was missing. CNN has a photo of the screwed-up star, though a clumsily-crafted version with the typos altered was used at the event.

Louis-Dreyfus saw the humor in the goof, but also seemed a bit ticked off by her luck.

"The misspelling was so perfectly apt, a great metaphor for show business," she said of the star. "Right when you think you've made it, you get knocked down."

"It's an ideal metaphor for how this business works."

On 'Seinfeld,' her character, Elaine Benes, was an editor for the J. Peterman Catalog. Her job, besides humoring her crazy boss, was to catch such errors.

Amazingly, Louis-Dreyfus is the first character from the iconic show to get a star from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the ceremonies. She's also the lone member of the cast to go on to further TV success -- her show, 'The New Adventures of Old Christine,' has been a hit for CBS and earned the actress an Emmy.

In attendance were 'Seinfeld' co-star Jason Alexander and the show's co-creator Larry David, who joked, "I am prepared to give up my nights and weekends to guard this (star) with my life from the filth and pollutants to which it's prone. Anyone who so much as sneezes near this area while I'm on duty ... well, I'll say, 'God bless you,' but I won't be happy about it."

The Chamber promised to install a corrected version and will send Louis-Dreyfus the "LUIS" as a memento.

TOO MANY STARS BEING GIVEN OUT! SOME CELEBS USE TO GET THEIR STARS WHEN THEY WERE LONG RETIRED. "SEINFELD" REMAINS THE ONLY GREAT THING IN JULIAS' RESUME! BY THE WAY? WHERE IS THE ROOM FOR ALL THESE STARS?

It seems like someone would have done their job a little better than this. To take the time and effort to put a name on a star, and not know how to spell the name correctly. Someones not too bright.
Julia deserves much better, she was great in Senfeld.
Shes a beautiful woman, and I have never heard of one bad thing about her. I wish her all the very best.

You must have lived in a cave for the last 30 years if you know nothing about Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She first rose to fame as a cast member of Saturday Night Live (when the show was actually funny without resorting to a lot of bathroom humor like they do now) in 1981 (?). After she left, she starred on "Seinfeld" for eight years, then moved on to her current hit, "The New Adventures of Old Christine".

I think that maybe it was done as a joke...in reference to her job on Seinfeld. A mistake like that would have been caught before it was set in. So possibly the jokes on us ! Uh ?

"Giant boobs"? You must be thinking of someone else.

That being said, I'm not really sure why she deserved a star... and she's not dead or anywhere near death.
