Lady Gaga's highly-anticipated performance on 'American Idol' was cut short and edited, the 'Poker Face' singer claims. "Fox chopped up my performance in four places," she wrote on Twitter. She pre-taped her 'Alejandro' and 'Bad Romance' performance, which originally ran about six-and-a-half minutes in length. But due to time constraints, the show cut it down to just under five minutes. Gaga performed in true 'Fame Monster' style, featuring smoke machines, eight shirtless dancers and a large statue of an archangel. Full Length Performance

You people don't know genius when you see and hear it. Lady Gaga is brilliant, to say the least. Like Madonna? I think not. Perhaps in the way that each was unafraid to express themselves, but Madonna was a cheap thrill in the backseat of your father's car. While GaGa is.....Well, she's not cheap thrill.
Look! I'm 68 years old and I've seen alot of innovative talent, but trust me when I tell you that GaGa will endure.

Lady GaGa is a performance artist.....it's s a sub specialty of being a regualar artist. I'm not crazy about her, but she is doing her thing and has a big fan base. I'm not against it.

I remember when Madonna first came out and she caused quite a stir in her day. I do think Lady Gaga is talented ... far more than Britney Spears ever was as well as all the other whiny voices out there today and it's the same old beat today. How boring. At least Gaga has a good voice, she plays piano and she writes songs. Gaga is very smart to be doing what she's doing. She's shocking everyone and that sells. However, for American Idol's very young audience, she should have tamed it down and wore less revealing clothing.
I want to add why was it so different when Michael Jackson and other male performers grab themselves and hump? I hate that ... it's so degrading. Why is that acceptable? Why is it acceptable for Beyonce to be so sexual and half naked? It's the business today. Gaga is being a smart business woman.
So, sixty-eight years of life's experiences haven't made clear the difference between art and trash? Not to worry, she may end up performing at the Met-in your dreams.

Lady GaGa believes she is far more important than she actually is. I honestly don't understand why American idol would want to put this self-absorbed, lackluster performer on national TV anyway.

Lady Gaga was totally inappropriate for American Idol. More like some performance you would see, say, on the Grammy Awards, but not for AI general audience I would say. Too theatrical. I wonder how many people either switched channels or turned it off while this was on.
