'American Idol' Edits Lady Gaga's Full Performance

Lady Gaga's highly-anticipated performance on 'American Idol' was cut short and edited, the 'Poker Face' singer claims. "Fox chopped up my performance in four places," she wrote on Twitter. She pre-taped her 'Alejandro' and 'Bad Romance' performance, which originally ran about six-and-a-half minutes in length. But due to time constraints, the show cut it down to just under five minutes. Gaga performed in true 'Fame Monster' style, featuring smoke machines, eight shirtless dancers and a large statue of an archangel.

The singer started her performance sitting at a piano, which she played as she sang the opening lines of her hit song 'Bad Romance' before proceeding into her latest single, 'Alejandro,' with outrageous dancing -- which looked very Madonna-esque.

According to WWD, Gaga wore a lace, mesh and crystal-studded bodysuit designed by Armani. The designer described the outfit as "pure fantasy."

As for Gaga herself, Armani calls her a "modern phenomenon who has proved to be fascinating, and whose every appearance is a piece of theatre."

Boy, there are a lot of music police here tonight. Lady Gaga is fantastic. She is a one woman show and she has tons of talent. Madonna was racy in the early 80s but she didn't have the talent that Lady Gaga has.

Get your noses out of the Bible for a minute and enjoy a good performance.

What a bunch of prude morons!! Open your minds, ears, eyes people! Lady GaGa is amazingly talented and beautiful. Her voice is phenomenal! Oh, and this whole Lady Gag Gag thing-Gee, haven't seen anyone post that before, how original!

LADY GAGA still "rocks" hard...all she needs is a new hit to bring her back to stellar popularity. I don't know of any performer who has made a bigger impact than GAGA. PEACE

I sat in total disgust with my 9 year old son watching this disgusting display! Lady Gaga will be on my DO-MISS list from now on! Shame on American Idol/FOX for putting this depicable show on primetime television (at least without a warning).

Totally inappropriate for AI audience. The camera keep shifting away so as not to expose her thong buttocks. The performance by Lady Gaga and her dancers was trashy garbage for AI's young audience. What a turn off... she should be banned from TV.

I like Lady Gaga but did not like her performance last night. I also don't think it was appropriate for AI because the audience is generally very young and you can sing all the very young people standing near the stage constantly waving their arms. I thought it was a scream when they waved to Harry Connick's song. They probably didn't even know who he was but HE WAS FANTASTIC!!!

Horrible performance. I was cringing the entire time it was on. Gaga must have been cringing too after she saw how bad it was, which is why she rushed to Twitter to blame the editing! She is a prime example of an over-hyped singer made into a "super-star" by the media. Her record label probably paid millions for all that exposure.

Why would AI put someone on who is obviously mentally ill and unstable. She is just gross and nasty too. I don't get it, we are afraid to offend with prayer (Nat'l day of prayer declared unconstitutional), yet we show this to our youth??? What are we doing!!!! Wake up America!!!!

I agree with you 100%! This woman is skanky and hardly anything more than a strip show performer. This performance should NOT have been on a family program...Fox should have better taste.

This woman is obscene and belongs in a brothel where men who want to see this crap can pay for it. I was disgusted that American Idol, a family program, put this trash on....the pickins' must be slim when they have to settle for this.

Lady Gaga is a lousy singer and performer. I'm so sick and tired of these types of performances by any artist. The only way they can "market" their junk music is with half-dressed people, lousy lyrics, and vulgar gestures. Yes, I know that sells but predominantly to the younger group (16-25). I will never buy this woman's music and will never click on any link that promotes her...she really sucks!

I admit my family sat down to watch "American Idol" as we do each and every week. I have a 17 year old and 13 year old girls. As Lady Gaga started her performance, we were eagerly anticipating her performance. About 3 or 4 minutes into the perfomance, we had to turn the channel due to the inappropriate viewing and nature of the performance. I was very disappointed in Lady Gaga because we have seen her on other award shows and this performance was just GROSS!!
