It's official: Following gender-reassignment surgery last year, Chaz Bono is legally a man. A Santa Monica judge on Thursday granted Bono's request to change his name from Chastity to Chaz and to switch his gender identification to male.

I don't get why so many people even give a crap what celebrities go through. They sure don't lose any sleep over the fact that every one of my bills are past due or that I'm in a trial separation from my husband. I couldn't care less. At least they have their millions to soften their emotional blows. Out here in the real world, we just have to suck it up and keep on truckin'.

Becky & jaenine: You are not the only ones with problems. However, this is not the place to air your laundry. Whether or not you agree with Chaz/Chastity's choices and her own life-altering decisions, is what this forum is for. I've got worries, too. We all do. These articles are meant for us to forget about our own worries for a moment and see what else goes on in the world beside what occurs inside our own self-absorbed, miserable bubble. Get over it.

Hanging on to weight (ie. fat) is really self-protection. Perhaps now that significant steps are being taken toward that, Chaz can do some emotional work and release the need to protect and then goes the weight. Timing is all up to Chaz though... not us. Good opportunity to see how judgemental we all can be... and for us to let go of that.

oh my... if only we could have privacy in our lives, again. I feel so for Chaz/former Chastity (which I always thought was a terrible name for a child). I guarantee that this would have been easier for him if he didn't have to have it play out so much in the public forum.
People do not have any respect for one another, anymore. Can't we PLEASE keep our sexual orientation, sexual practices, and everything else related PRIVATE FOR PETE'S SAKE?!!
WHY do people have to be "OUTED"? Just because you want to know? Isn't there something in YOUR life that you'd like to keep private?
And all the surguries done for "enhancing"... give me a break... what do you think you'll look like in 20, 30, 40 years???
We need to EMBRACE ourselves AS WE ARE, and each other. It's not what's on the outside, it's what's on the inside that should matter!! And by that, I mean having values and morals and a sense of respect for ourselves and others.

I agree it would be mind boggling. I have a 17 yr. old daughter and I know that I would love her and support her no matter where her life takes her.
Is that pretty girl in the black dress his girlfriend BEFORE he got the sex change operation? Chaz' girlfriend when HE was a SHE? If so - what now? The partner was lovin' a woman and now she's a he. Does she leave HIM because he's now a man and she's gay? OMG - I'm confused.

People, he is not a he but a she. Do a blood test and you will find XY chromosomes, not XX chromosomes. Chastity has some very deep seated mental disturbances, and a boat load of sin, to do to herself what she did.

Ken, that would be "deep seeded" problem...most likely because of Cher. Love Cher, but Cher is a man in a woman's body......her voice is way beyond....a woman's voice....
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember learning in high school that XX chromosomes means female and XY means male. Maybe I should go back to school lol.
Got the chromosomes reversed in first post, you will find XX not XY chromosomes
