Did Kendra Try to Sell Her Sex Tape First?

Were you scratching your head at the news of Kendra Wilkinson -- reality TV star, former Playboy playmate, never one for shyness -- fighting the release of her sex tape? Documents obtained by RadarOnline.com might explain everything: Kendra appears to have been trying to sell the tape herself ... in 2008.

According to the documents, Kendra intended to form a company called Home Run Productions LLC, which would shop the sex tape to potential distributors. A key component of the original scheme was Kendra's right to dictate how the tape would be edited before it was released.

In another report, Radar says there seems to be multiple sex tapes.

Though various media have said Kendra is humiliated and vexed by the tape's leak -- and scared it will damage her marriage to NFL player Hank Baskett -- Radar's acquired documents run contrary, saying, "Wilkinson was figuring out a way to release the tape herself well into her relationship with the professional football player and even after the couple's engagement was announced."

The tape was acquired by Vivid Entertainment -- the same company that launched sexy video romps featuring Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton.

Vivid released a full press release to the media about the 'Girls Next Door' star's sex tape:

"We know that Kendra has millions of fans and we feel that it's rare to find well-produced, hardcore footage of a star of her magnitude. The tape was brought to us by a third party and after consulting with our attorneys, we are confident in our right to distribute it. We've been trying to reach Kendra but have so far been unsuccessful. We therefore made the decision to release 'Kendra Exposed' to stores across the country by the end of May," said Steven Hirsch, founder/co-chairman of Vivid. "We believe this could be our all time best selling celebrity tape."

Kendra's lawyer sent a cease and desist letter to Vivid stating, "The video is private and highly confidential taken for private use and not for public disclosure. Any exploitation of the video would be a gross violation of Miss Wilkinson's constitutional and common law rights of privacy."

We have to wonder -- is this just a case of Kendra wanting to release the tape on her own terms (and to reap the financial benefits and the headlines), or did she have a true change of heart?

of course her mother is proud. back when kendra was at the playboy mansion her mother had all kind of plastic surgery to try and fit in.
i would bet that the mother wanted to be in the sex tape with kendra but kendra probably said no. she didnt want anybody trying to take her spotlight.
as far as selling the tape herself, she probably did. tv ratings are really low, their about to be cancelled anything to try to get interest. good luck kendra your 15 minutes are almost gone

Heck, having a sex tape is so 2005. If everyone does it (which it seems they are), then it loses shock value. It's the trend right now I guess sort of like adopting an Africa baby was 2 years ago. Please Kendra, get a publicist with a little more imagination. This publicity "scandal" is tepid at best.
