'Shocked' Jen Schefft From 'Bachelorette' Is Pregnant

Former 'Bachelorette' Jen Schefft is pregnant with her first child, US Weekly reports. The 33-year-old PR executive, who wed trader Joe Waterman last May, is due in November.

"I was shocked. I thought it would take more time," Schefft explains. "I took three tests because I didn't believe it was true!"

As for the sex of the baby, Schefft wants it to remain a secret. "I don't know why, but I feel like it's going to be a girl," Schefft tells the magazine. "I already have, like, 10 names, but I'm not telling!"

Schefft appeared on season three of ABC's 'The Bachelor,' winning Andrew Firestone's final rose. However, the two eventually split up, leading Schefft to star in her own spin-off, 'The Bachelorette,' which aired in 2005.

It only takes one time to get pregnant. That's why so many young people are stupid into thinking they can not get pregnant, and in this case, even those who are older. She has a lot to learn!

Seriously? I really don't think she has a lot to learn. We hear all the time through media and other sources that as women *gasp* wait until their 30s to start a family, their chances of conceiving will be exponentially lower. If it took her a short time to conceive, good for them. I'm only a year older than her, very healthy with a healthy spouse, and we've had no luck after 18 months. I think she was simply stating that she was surprised that it took so little time at her age.

dgibson4news: FYI...Usually when a woman has been taking birth control pills and she goes off of them; her body goes through a period of adjustment. It is not unusual for it to take up to a year for a woman to get pregnant after going off of the pill. Especially if the woman is 30 or over (as another post pointed out) Most likely that is what Jen meant when she said "I was shocked. I thought it would take more time." I bet money her doctor had even told her to not expect to get pregnant right away~~~ I highly doubt her 'shock' is an indicator that she is stupid or has a lot to learn. I am not a big fan of the woman and don't find this newsworthy. But I do find posts by such uninformed people a great source of entertainment.

This is lead into the next show..."Paternity".... the bachelorette flirts with 25 men in a remote but exclisive estate.... when she gets pregnant... the guys jump ship, until they determine who is the father or who is the sap. someone will be paying a million dollars of child support !

I think she may have been "shocked" to find she is having one of those first babies who only take 6-7 months 'til arrival. May-November? I, too, do not find it newsworthy. May they have a happy, healthy baby.
