Britney Spears & Jason Trawick Split -- Professionally

Pop sensation Britney Spears has decided to part with Jason Trawick -- as her agent, so they can start focusing on their relationship instead. The couple "have decided to end their professional relationship and focus on their personal relationship," Spears' rep tells PEOPLE. "Since wrapping her recent world tour, Spears has been busy in the studio working on her next album."

Spears and Trawick started dating last summer and have dodged engagement rumors for months. Back in August, the Huffington Post reported that the pop star showed up at the Teen Choice Awards wearing a diamond ring.

"They are very happy," a source said of the couple. "Things are really good with them."

Although wedding bells aren't ringing yet, the couple seem to be very focused on strengthening their relationship and getting more serious.

Engaged or not, Tarwick has Lynn Spears' approval. "He's the kind of man you would dream of your daughter marrying. The kids love him, and he's stable," she said back in November.

Why does this woman need the validation of a man? Why does she continue to put men first in her life? Young, rich and beautiful and can't be without a man. SAD!

Wasnt she that lady that sang those highschoolish pop songs a long time ago that shaved her head and got lots of tats and then got fats as heck?I think I remember her but since Im not 14 I dont listen to pop music......its hard to keep up with all the pop culture.

I think its sad that this obviously needy girl needs that relationship of a man to make her life meaningful. I think she is off point in that getting her career back on track was wasy more important than repairing and rebuilding a strong relationship with her children. She needs to do alot off work on herself. She would have been better to take off a year or two off and really work on herself not go on a world tour and find a new man to sleep with.

This "boyfriend" is a PAID ATTENDANT hired to squire Short Bus around. He is on Daddy's payroll. She gets to think she's got a "boyfriend" and he makes sure her floppers are in a sturdy bra when she goes out in public. She is no more capable of dressing herself properly than she is capable of being a mother, and BTW, whatever happened with those kids? Maybe her new "boyfriend" could drive her over to visit them once in a while, after one of their many yummy Starbucks runs.
