'Jersey Shore' Star Allegedly Attacks Night Club Patron

More drama is stirring for the cast of 'The Jersey Shore.' A 24-year-old woman said Tuesday that she was attacked by a female cast member, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, at a South Beach nightclub. Kristen DeMinco said Giancola punched her twice in the head Saturday, leaving her with a bruise under her eye. Her attorneys said they filed a police report Tuesday.

"This isn't acceptable for people to be going around hitting people just for TV. I think it's wrong of MTV, I think it's wrong of them. I think they do it on purpose," DeMinco told reporters outside the Miami Beach Police Department.

The show has been filming episodes in South Florida over the past several weeks.

DeMinco said Giancola confronted her in the VIP area of the nightclub Dream after she struck up a conversation with a man who was apparently Giancola's boyfriend.

"She exchanged bad words at me," DeMinco said. "I exchanged bad words back. She hit me twice in the face and I just backed off right after that. I didn't want to get involved in a fight."

An MTV spokeswoman declined to comment on the allegations and said she didn't know if Giancola had an agent. A talent agency in New York said it had once handled some of Giancola's booking but no longer worked with her.

DeMinco's attorneys said they also plan to file a civil lawsuit against Giancola and MTV.

This is all for publicity and it's as disgusting as the girls on the show are themselves. This show has successfully dumbed down America a little more. Shame on MTV.

Its not so much that they are a "star" per say as you and I would think. She is popular on the show and that is a term she is labeled as. NOW, is she a talented star or actress?? HELL NO...she is an obnoxious weiny little B..ch. At least that is how she appears on T.V. And maybe she did act like a big deal and get snotty with someone because she may have this sense of entitlement to start with people..thus increasing ratings for MTV.

Hey! I have a novel idea! Stay out of night clubs and do something productive with your time. Finds ways to have fun and socialize without being in a bar and drinking alcohol! I bet you'd lose weight!
