These people have their own reality and live by an entirely different set of morals. If a 44 year old man was grinding with my daughter she would be grounded for about 100 years and the man wouldn't have much to grind with when I was done with him. It is sad to see such a talented young girl heading down the path of the likes of Britney and Lindsey.

The fact that she's only 16 makes it worse but no woman should be dancing like that. I know that many kids out there dance that way these days but, as parents, we don't just throw up our hands and say "Oh well." We have an uphill struggle but we have to teach our kids about the problems with living life with no discretion or thought about their actions. It's not easy and sometimes won't make you the most popular parent but your kids will thank you in the long run. My older girls are 22 and 20 and are so grateful they have been raised in our family as opposed to some of their friends who are dealing with lots of fallout from their physically and emotionally unhealthy actions. Obviously, no parents or kids will be perfect but their are a lot of parents abdicatating their responsibilty to their children and Miley's parent appear to be on that list and not for the first time either.

I work in a Christian high school in Alabama. At our dances, we have a "face your partner" rule - no grinding allowed. That being said, I spend the entire night making rounds of the dance floor telling the kids to turn around and face their partners. This really is how all the kids want to dance these days.

I suspect that she wanted to dance this way because it is how all the kids dance or she just doesn't know any other way. Dance floor dancing is different than video choreography, after all. In her 16 year old brain, she probably thought the safest place to do this was up against an openly gay man, as he wouldn't get the wrong idea and think it was an invitation.

Does that type of dancing appeal to me? No.
Does the age difference bother me? Yes.
Would I rather see her grinding against a straight 16 year old boy who is made of teenage hormones? No.
Should there have been a chaperone for Miley there? Yes.

All that being said, I just don't think it's that big of a deal. And why were there parents with little kids at this party close enough to that dance floor to get offended? That doesn't seem like the best parenting decision one could make, either.

so, I have definitely danced with my friends, bosses, and coworkers of all ages. Even at the last meet and greet party we had I was grinding to milkshake on my boss. I had the whole place supporting me and other people were getting down too. Keep in mind I am a pretty sexual person but I like to just be physical with people it doesn't mean I have or even want to have sex. So for people like me and Miley who like to exude our youth and sexual nature, it is just loads of fun. I think she is hot and knows it and is having fun. So please don't hate, just go outside and see if your milkshake brings all the boys to the yard (or girls, whatever you like).

I have worked in the movie industry since 1990, from Flipper to Titanic. Not one single wrap party was ever child friendly. If there is one thing a shooting crew likes to do, it's to let loose. Some crews don;t even wait until the wrap party, some start when they wrap a shooting day. From the looks of the video it doesn't look like it was at the Malibu Ranch or anything that is kid friendly. I'd say what moron on the crew brought their kids to a wrap party with drinking and dancing?
As for Miley, I'd say she is trying real hard not to be type cast as a child star. Time will tell if she starts getting arrested for DUI's. BTW where were her chaperones for the night, she is still under age. I know when I worked with Elijah Wood on Flipper (he was 15 at the time), his mom was always there, but she wasn't interested in having a career infront of the camera.

She is growing up way to fast. She has this idea in her head that adults can act like that all the time and get away with it and she thinks she's an adult and can get away with the same thing. Makes me wonder who she looks up to and what her parents let her get away with. Totally inappropriate.
