Sara Rue Drops 40 Lbs. on Jenny Craig
Actress Sara Rue is ready to take on the world since losing 40 lbs. "I feel great and I feel very excited and hopeful," Rue tells
PEOPLE. "It's pretty cool to know that however I want my body to look, I can have that." Since becoming a Jenny Craig spokesperson in December, Rue admits she has surpassed her original goal, but isn't done shedding a few extra pounds. "I'm going to go on and lose a little bit more," she says. "The longer I am on the program, the less I have to think about it. It just becomes a lifestyle. It's not like you're on today, off tomorrow."
The 'Eastwick' actress is also planning to run a half marathon from Napa to Sonoma, California, in July with fellow Jenny Craig spokesperson Valerie Bertinelli.
"I never thought I would take to running, but I did a 5K recently and that went well! And I think I might be crazy, but my next goal is to do a half marathon with Valerie this summer," says Rue.
Bertinelli admits, "I'm so proud of her. Look at her! She's freakin' gorgeous."
Rue was married to filmmaker Mischa Livingstone for more than four years before filing for divorce in 2007. She is currently engaged to teacher Kevin Price, who
proposed last August.

I think it is great that they can lose weight like that. I could too if I had a personal training and my food supplied to me by Jenny Craig. Now why doesn't Jenny Craig use real people that will have to go out and exercise and pay for their own food and see just how well the program works? Get real Jenny Craig! As far as I am concerned this is false advertising!

Granny, you can do it! I got tired of seeing a fat old man looking back at me every time I looked in a mirror. I finally decided that even though I couldn't do anything about the old part, I could do something about the fat part. In 11 weeks I've lost 28 pounds and didn't do it with a trainer or expensive mail order food. I started portion control, eating a lot more fruit and veggies, and just cutting back on junk food. I still have an occasional slice of pizza or two and a beer here and there. I feel better and plan on keeping on with my new way of eating. I'm not saying it was easy at first but your brain changes the way you think of food. You also discover foods that are great that you'd never thought of eating before. Try a salad with lettuce, spinach, carrots, apples, dried cranberries, and walnuts with a low fat dressing (just two tablespoons is more than enough). If you eat yogurt, watch the labels. I got some that said lite and it had 140 calories per 6 oz. cup. It gets easier as you go and even if you lose only 1/2 pound a week just tell yourself that you still lost!
I have a friend who lost 50 pounds on Jenny Craig and now she is a counselor for Jenny Craig in Jensen Beach, Florida. She not only looks great, but should be one of those "normal" representatives.
I agree...I'm one of those real people who can't afford a trainer or the food for that matter...USE ME I could use loosing a few pounds!!
Whoops! Did I forget and get paid for losing weight too. Must be something in their contract that states they don't get paid if they don't lose the weight. Pay me a hefty salary, supply me a personal trainer and pay for my food and I will lose the weight too.

Dear Granny,
I lost 55 pounds on Jenny Craig and with exercise; three to six miles a day, five days a week of power-walking. I was so over-weight that I couldn't really do much in the way of exercise for the first month, so the food proportions did most of the work at the beginning. Altogether, it took about nine months to lose the weight. Don't think for a second you lose the weight just by the food. Now THAT'S the "advertising" part you're seeing....that and the fact Hollywood thinks we want to be them. ha ha.
So, it worked for me. And I'm not a celebrity at all.

I agree with JP. Fine that Sara is losing weight for health reasons, but as for looking "freakin gorgeous" as Valerie gushes, I don't see that at all. From just a looks standpoint Sara looks far better with the 40 pounds than she does now. She was "freakin gorgeous" and voluptuous then, now she is starting to look like every other "hot chick" in Hollywood - that is - starting to get that sunken in face (not quite there yet, but she will be soon), little to no hips (she has some hips now, but just wait), bones starting to stick out everywhere (again Sara not quite here yet, but soon will be), and in most cases bird like legs and scrawny arms (quite frankly she has nice arms and legs now, but I fear for the worst once she loses more weight). Ugh! If that is freakin gorgeous than I am glad I am not in Hollywood. Give me a real women with nice firm breasts, rounded hips, rosy plump cheeks, strong arms and legs, a caring non-self-centered ego, and a lot more interests and things to do in this world than worrying about being a size 0. Now, putting it in Valerie's words, that is a freakin gorgeous women.
A real non-Hollywood man

I like the way you think!!!
Anyone can lose weight by eating all the fruit you want, and vegtables. Never fried. And lots of water. If I can do it, anyone can. It took me 8 months to lose 35 lbs. It was hard at first, but once the weight started falling off, it was fun. No need to give awya hard earned money to lose weight.

I agree. Sara was smokin' hot at her very heaviest; every pound was right where it should be, and she made no apologies for her size. I hope she is really doing this for her health and not just to fit in with the disgusting "You can never be too thin" Celebrity crapola.

She will gain it all back unfortunately unless she really learns how to eat in the real world. Jenny Craig's portions are tiny-I had a friend who did that diet and got heavy again after she got off. That's what happened with Kirstie Alley. I think Valerie's still on the diet which is why she hasn't gained anything back. I am sick of these H'wood Yo Yo dieters.

How nice for these actresses. I guess if you are hired as a spokesperson, or have money, ( usually a personal trainer, which this article does not mention) it's easy to have the access to products like Jenny Craig. The cost of food alone if horrendous!!!! Make things easier for the everyday overweight person and then I'll be impressed.

She is a very pretty girl but I think she looked better before. Thin doesn't make you gorgeous Ms Bertinelli!!!

I have lost 10 lbs on Jenny Craig. It is a little expensive but it is worth not having to measure , ect. I'm still working on it but nothing could replace the way I finally feel good about myself.
I think you should love yourself not matter what size you are but I just know that I personally feel better when I try to take care of myself. I'm so much healthier.
It helps to have a counselor routing for you.

She'd look even better if she's loses the 10 pounds above her shoulders.

She's gotten very thin before, and to be honest, she lost her appeal. She's a great character actress, but when she got thin, she became just like all the other typically pretty actress' working today with nothing to offer than looking sexy.

Maybe she should have lost more like 20. I think she looks better when she's plump but maybe that's just how I like it. lol. As long as she's healthy and happy

SkinnyMinny,,,Your so right about gaining it all back, when going of of a diet. People need to think about what their eating while on a diet, and can they keep it up forever or not.
Its best to find a way of eating right, that can be done for the rest of their lives.
Vegtables, and fruits with lots of water, will do it every time. Theres no need to pay anyone anything to lose weight. And to measure food? Too much trouble and not needed.
