Yesterday, TMZ unveiled video of Miley Cyrus dirty dancing at last summer's wrap party for her most recent flick, 'The Last Song.' The video shows the pop star giving the movie's producer, 44-year-old Adam Shankman, a pretty intense lap dance. And today, TMZ caught up with her dad to get his thoughts on his daughter's graphic dance moves.

It's called freak dancing, it's been around for 10 or more years. With lap dancing the guy sits still and the girl climbs all over him. Geez, they're not playing tonsil hockey, they're fully clothed. It's not any more suggestive than ballroom dancing. And it seems an awful lot of us have forgotten what it's like to be hormonal. Luckily there weren't cameras following us 24/7 when we were 17.

Yeah but the difference here is that she was 16 when she did it and it was with a 44 year old man...THAT we did not do at our age and only strippers give lap dances in public forum such as a club
The issue here is NOT about what normal kids her age are doing or are supposed to do.
The issue here is that Miley Cyrus is NOT a "NORMAL" kid. She agreed to be a rolemodel for young girls, like it or not, when she received her first paycheck for Hannah Montana. She knows that every public outing is photographed, filmed and uploaded while it's still happening. She knew FULL WELL that this video would leak somewhere, and I think, craves the new "reputation" it will give her.
The parallels to Britney Spears' image remake are remarkable...Miley must have studied that transformation and realized that the bridge Britney used to successfully cross over was all about sexuality. Miley knows that she has to create a more sexualized image in order to grow a new fan base. I'm sure Billy Ray knows this, and so when he sees behavior like this, he has to support it at the risk of jeopardizing her future.
It's incredibly obvious to everyone that Miley is attempting to move from Disney-sweet-princess to edgy & current "artist"...but she doesn't have the pure talent for guaranteed success- AND if she alienates her main fan base now by dismissing them and making them feel too young and naive- she will have ruined both her legacy and her future at the same time.

Other things kids her age do to have fun include having unprotected sex, sending naked pictures of themselves to other kids and smoking crack. I think he's just afraid to say anything to or about his meal ticket that might cause her to cut him off. Plus,he probably watches the video over and over when he's alone.

About five years ago our local news station featured an underage nightclub in Ocean City, MD. Everything that breathed in that room were gyrating against each other. I am not condoning this by any means, but I guess this is what they do- it was pretty disgusting- and to boot, I am pretty open minded. MY daughter wanted to go when she was 16 and I wouldn't let her go.

Billy Ray Cyrus is not only a flash-in-the-pan has been in the entertainment industry , but a poor excuse for a father devoid of decent morals and principles. Papa Cyrus no doubt is just riding the money train of his daughter's fame and fortune, and will say and do anything to keep her career and star status in tact and thriving. He tries too hard to be her friend FIRST rather than be what he NEEDS to always be....her FATHER. That's what is wrong with the average American family nowadays. Most parents today, be they single parents or otherwise, spend way too much time and effort in striving to be friends with their kids when their first and moral duty is to raise and teach them the difference between right and wrong. In the case of Billy Ray Cyrus, the only right thing in his mind is to make sure he keeps riding his daughter Miley's gravy train no matter how disgustingly sleazy and insipidly lewd her behavior continues.
