Joan Jett Doesn't Want You to Eat Meat

Holy rock 'n' roll, is that Joan Jett? That was the question everyone was asking themselves recently when the rocker was in New York's Union Square handing out copies of PETA's vegetarian/vegan starter kit.
Jett has been a vegetarian for almost 20 years and admits to PopEater that she could not "see the distinction between a pig and a cow or my dog." Now, she's urging others to think about their health before they chomp into another hamburger.
Jett spoke with PopEater about her latest campaign and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts' upcoming tour with Green Day.
Watch:
Rocking out on stage, Jett didn't want to be weighed down by the food she was consuming. "I didn't feel good eating meat. It felt very heavy, like it never left my body," she said.
"Being on stage, I didn't want to feel [that heavy feeling], so I stopped eating meat initially for that reason."
Her health is the "number one reason" for not eating meat. Then came her moral decision. "I've been an animal lover since I was conscious," she said.
"It was really about reassessing what I had an appetite for. I always liked fruits and vegetables, so it was really just a matter of cutting out meat and adding more of the other things -- like pasta and beans. "

Joan Jett doesn't want you to eat meat, but obviously whoever created humans does.

Humans are meat, so you're saying cannibalism is ok with you.
It's called having a better, more evolved conscience. No one gets to choose what type of organism they will be when they are created. Have sympathy for those not created the same as you, and practice the words, "THOU SHALT NOT KILL".

Have to watch the veggies we eat. Republicans want a smaller government means less inspectors.

Being a fellow vegetarian, I know exactly what Joan means by the "heavy feeling". I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed the taste, feel, or smell of meat and easily gave up all meats long ago. I am a happier and healthier person because of it.

I choose to not eat beef, pork,& dont miss it. Does it bother me if others do of course not. I never was a big meat eater even as a kid ,so in 1976, I decided to quit,I never looked back,& I still do not eat anything that once lived & or walked this earth.
To those who do, it's there right ,As it is mine to not..
I like some of JJ's music. And 30 years ago she was ok to look at. But Joan, it's not your business, or PETA's what I eat. I wonder if she's pro-abortion? You know, save the animals and kill the children.

Every one of you rotten, ignorant people should be forced to experience what is done to the feeling beings that you wicked people have no care for as you say such trash against those who do. You are vile, despicable people.
