Cameron Douglas Transferred to Prison

Three weeks after being sentenced to five years in prison for drug dealing, troublemaker Cameron Douglas has been transferred to a minimum security prison in Lewisburg, PA, PEOPLE is reporting.

According to the report, Douglas, who had been held in Manhattan's Metropolitan Correctional Center since August, will live in "a dormitory style barracks with rows of bunk beds" in the prison, located about 170 miles west of Philadelphia. There, he will be expected to work and will also have the opportunity to take various educational courses.

Additionally, Douglas will be allowed outdoors in the evening, but must be indoors after dark and in bed by around 10PM, the report says.

Douglas was arrested last summer at the Gansevoort Hotel in Manhattan for allegedly dealing crystal methamphetamine and possession of heroin. At his sentencing in April, the 31-year-old apologized to his family and assured the judge that "things will be different this time."

Cameron's father, Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas, is currently attending the 63rd Cannes Film Festival to promote his film 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.'

I am very happy to hear that he got transferred.
AT LEAST HE IS AWAY FROM NEW YORK. Cameron will not have to worry or think about what he has done in NYC and was put in jail for what he was doing. At least where he is now, he will work, get his mind busy and walk on a straight line. I feel extremely sorry for his father Michael Douglas and his mother as well and step mother. Cameron just could not handle the FAME that his family has. That can trouble a child so badly.
Cameron, hang in there and do the best you can. Stay out of trouble

FAME can trouble a child? OMG! Get a grip on reality! Do you think hunger and poverty can "trouble" a child? I have zero sympathy or tolerance for someone who has been brought up with every advantage and then thumbs his nose at it. Boo hoo for him. His so-called "remorse" is fake too. His girlfriend tried smuggling drugs to him while he was IN JAIL! He's right where he needs to be right now. Maybe this is the wake-up call he needs.

No one in his family has had to face the reality of their actions since Kirk Douglas became a "Star". Their actions are always justified by the pressure they live under. This brat goes to Club Fed and a a similar person that has been living under crushing poverty does to some hell hole. I am so tired of this system that tries to rehabilitate the rich and punish the poor.

Oh please, this was another rich kid who the courts let get out of control.The courts should have been much firmer from the beginning of his troubled years. If this had been a regular guy from the nabe they would have sent him to prision if not the 1st time, definitely the 2nd time.
There are 2 kinds of justice in this country, the rich get fancy retreats and the average guys get "bubba" in the states care.

It's time these judges wake up and start imposing the sentences that they should be, then they will truly be helping that person.

Cameron Douglas, just another rich kid with no brains (see Redmond O'Neal). All the advantages in the world, and they choose drugs as an alternative lifestyle. Neither one of them has ever heard of that mystery word, J.O.B. Too bad he couldn't control himself because NOW society will do it for him. And those sad songs his dad and mom and grampy sang for him? I've got news for you, Mommy, Daddy and Grampy, when he gets out, that arrogance you instilled in him (look at the pic) will ensure that he goes right back to his bad-boy ways.

Hes very lucky to have a father whos rich and famous.
Cameron would be in a REAL prison if it wasnt for his dad.

Funny, you don't hear about many inner-city kids going to "country club prisons" after drug distribution convictions. Even first time offenders seem to be doing hard time in Federal Pens when they can't afford the best legal counsel that money can buy. I guess the old adage "money talks, bullsh*t walks" is as true as ever in the American justice system. What utter hypocrisy.

I am so sick of these brat kids that grow up with all that they could ever want or think that they need!! They get into trouble as adults and who do they blame? They blame the parents that worked to provide the lifestyle that they had. I felt sick when the first report of the guilt trip he laid on his father and all I could think was d*** fool. He did the crime and I am sure he has heard the old one...do the crime do the time and if he claims he did not know it was a crime..well ignorance of hte law is no excuse. Well he can now enjoy the country club prison in the clean countryside of Pa., he will be with mostly white collar criminals, gee he can learn a new vice to practice while he does his time and take it up upon release. He will be 105 and still putting blame on his parents.

I wonder what strings were pulled to get him in the country club? It's ridiculous that someone who can sell drugs and this isn't his first offense should not have to serve time like the rest of the street criminals. In the long run this isn't going to benefit this person. He's had it easy all of his life, no one has ever made him accountable and he still is getting off easy. To bad for him. He's like another Charlie Sheen, can continue to show bad behavior and never having to pay the consequences.
