Grandmas Who Love Being Gaga's 'Little Monsters'
Lady Gaga has changed a generation with her music, her performances and, of course, her outrageous fashion. While the 'Poker Face' singer has droves of young fans, it's sometimes difficult to imagine that anyone over the age of 50 would be caught dead watching Gaga perform a "bloody" 'Paparazzi' set or enjoy seeing her strut around in Alexander McQueen armadillo heels. Of course, we're all about breaking stereotypes here at
PopEater and discovered there are plenty of grandparents who are cuckoo for Gaga.

Meet
Joyce Carter. She and her husband, who will both be 56 this summer, can't get enough of the 'Bad Romance' singer. Carter had known about Lady Gaga for about a year, but it wasn't until she took her granddaughter, Makenna, 7, to school that she got a taste of the eccentric songstress.
"[She] pipes up with, 'Oh Granny, could you turn this up. I love this song. It's called 'Bad Romance.' Immediately, I was taken in by the beat and ended up falling in love with the song," Carter recalls to
PopEater.
As soon as she got home, she rushed to her computer to download the track along with several other Gaga songs. She eventually turned her oldest daughter into a Gaga fan too, and admits Gaga is a pretty good role model for young women. "Everyone has the right to be their own person. [You] can't judge a book by its cover," she says.

A few years ago, while working in a group home,
Carol Lee Bour Folsom was introduced to Lady Gaga. She overheard her clients listening to Gaga's music and couldn't get over how much she enjoyed it.
When the 62-year-old finally saw the singer on MTV, she couldn't get over how much of an "individualist" Gaga was. "She's outrageous in a good way, because she is expressing how she feels. That's how we all should be able to do it," Folsom tells
PopEater. "I'm proud of her that she can do that and doesn't care about what anyone else thinks."
Now, she turns up the radio and TV any time the 'Alejandro' singer is on -- even though her husband, children and grandchildren think she's "nuts."
Folsom had planned to attend Gaga's show in Minneapolis, but due to money constraints, she opted to skip this time. She's upset but knows she has plenty of time to see Gaga in the future because she believes her career will have legs. Folsom is ready to rock out with all the young "little monsters" at a show someday, because "you're never too old to just kick back and be a kid. It keeps you young."
--------
Barbara Sivo loves music. While her music tastes range from Pavarotti to Aerosmith, Lady Gaga definitely got her attention. While listening to XM Radio, Sivo first heard Gaga and "thought her vocals were amazing."
Calling her a cross between Gwen Stefani and Madonna, the 60-year-old tells
PopEater "[Lady Gaga] knows how to sell herself ... [and] she has the talent to back it up."
Citing 'Paparazzi' and 'Poker Face' as her favorite Gaga songs, Sivo loves being the cool grandmother.
"My granddaughter listens to Lady Gaga, and her friends think it is very cool that grandma knows the lyrics to her songs," she says. She's even hoping to eventually take her granddaughter and daughter to a show one day.

I am 48 and proud to be a little monster! I am taking my 14 year old daughter to see her in St Louis and I don't know who is more excited, me or my daughter! She is a role model and inspiration to all... and the girl can sing!

I'm 49 and I love Gaga. She roped me in all by herself - I have no children to influence me. Why can't an old lady be a Little Monster? Look at how many younguns love Michael Jackson. Good music, from real musicians, transcends the generations.

55 and LOVE Lady Gaga!! Bought tickets for myself and 2 girlfriends for July in NYC. Can't wait!!! My girls aren't as familiar with her so I'm hoping they are blown away by the show!!! Us oldsters, having experienced music since the 50's, 60's ,70's,80's etc, know good sh*t when we hear it!!! She's the real deal!!

I'm 52 with no kids, but I LOVE Lady GaGa. I fought loving her music because she is SO theatrical, but the woman can SING. I have both her albums on my iPhone--and listen to them constantly! Good music knows no AGE boundaries!! Folks, before you judge, listen to her! I mean, really LISTEN. You'll be surprised! She is an amazing talent!

I'm 19 and I think Lady Gag Gag sucks. I don't need some trite, recycled David Bowie, Madonna and Peaches wannabe. I mean seriously Gag can't really sing and dance. Her piano playing is average at best. Her music sounds so repetitive and juvenile even for me.

As a child of the 60's and a teen in the 70's we were ridiculed for our long hair and taste in music...it was so unlike anything our parents had heard before.
Now here we are in our 50's and 60's and this time some punk kids are going to tell US that We're too old, or we don't know 'good music'? Be there and done that you little pishers and we did it a darn site better than the likes of you!

I'm 39 going on 40 and I am a little monster. I love Lady Gaga!

I have to laugh when I read what "the kids" are saying about us "geezers"! I remember being so sure of myself like that once. Heck, if only I knew half as much now as I THOUGHT I knew then. Laugh at us all you want, children, you will wake up one day and your back will ache or your knees will creak then turn around and some new kid will be laughing at YOU.
Fun music is fun music. Music is what makes this sometimes terrible world enjoyable. Young or old....laugh, love and DANCE!

Lady Gaga is an astounding artist -- great voice, great sense of theater, great catchy dance tunes, tremendous video ideas -- I find her work to be dark, disturbing and yet energizing. And I'm old enough to be her grandfather. Just goes to show, art crosses all boundaries!

I'm over 60 and was amazed at how much I enjoy Gaga's music... and was even more surprised by her amazing talent. She's a professional. Her duo with Sir Elton John was exquisite. She seems to have a knack for attracting other talented singers in that share the spotlight, seemingly without guile or contentiousness... quite a feat in and of itself.

I guess I am an old geezer too. I am 59 years young and I feel like I am about 25. I also love Lady Gaga. She is full of talent. She write her own lyrics, music, and produces her own videos. I love all of her stuff. She is a breath of fresh air in the music industry and I think she will go on for years at the top. I can't be without her music, I love it, and her talent, and creativity.

I'm female, 63, retired Air Force...Lady Gaga ROCKS. I love her. The first thing I saw/heard was Bad Romance and frankly I nearly fell off my chair in hysterics. She pokes fun at everything/one including herself. She can fly with me anytime!!
